Virus Enthusiasts // HIV // Hanta // We work on the characterization of HIV latency. Since one virus is not enough to work with, we also look at Hanta virus.
I'm delighted to attend the 4th @InfectNet meeting today. A great network for female scientists working in infection research. Looking forward to spending time with the awesome and inspiring women!

The second HIV symposium here at @UniklinikEssen is now over. It was a wonderful meeting wit great talks, great science and fantastic scientists. Hannah Schwarzer-Sperber, Post-Doc in our group, and our PhD student Eva Müller @Spree_eva, both gave two nice talks. Kudos girls!
Thanks for the invite to give a keynote at the 2nd Symposium on HIV Immunology, Vaccine and Cure Research in Essen, Germany, and for organising this great meeting @UniklinikEssen@Schwarzer_Lab! #HIVCure
Our Post-Doc Hannah had a great poster session at the @AIDS_conference. Her poster gave insight into the role of Hypoxia and CD73 in favouring HIV latency. If you wanna learn more you can check out her Publication at @CellReports https://t.co/oTxJROyywe

Excellent presentation of the next Berlin patient from @c_gaebler at the @AIDS_conference. This case really raises the question about the importance of the deltaCCR5 mutation and the role of chimerism in viral clearance

Thank you to Adam Castillejo 🇬🇧, Paul Edmonds 🇺🇸, and Marc Franke 🇩🇪 for sharing their personal #HIV cure stories and inspiring us all to continue working towards a globally accessible HIV cure. 🙏 #AIDS2024
What an inspiring and motivating session at the #AIDS2024. 3 out of 7 people cured from HIV. 7 out of 40 million PLWH. Thank you, Adam, Paul & Marc for sharing your stories !!

🎊GREAT NEWS 🎊
Our fantastic Post-Doc Hannah Schwarzer-Sperber won the 'Young Scientist Best Paper Awards 2024' of the University Duisburg-Essen with her paper about the role of CD73 in HIV latency (https://t.co/wyKrfTMdnk) ! Congratulations 🥳
Have you ever wondered how Hanta virus affects the cytoskeletal proteins and P-bodies? Check out our poster (P008) in today's poster session!
