@simsurf1@timothyjweber Does it apply to the air train? Last I checked it didn’t - I’ll have to look again as it will change things for my transit plans.
@drmcopeman@renew_economy That’s a few hours more than we had, and will help avoid many more blackouts and brownouts even happening through frequency regulation.
Sure - not useful if a cyclone blows down the power going to your house … but neither would a coal power station.
@newscomauHQ … wonder why the weather predictions are less accurate… couldn’t possibly be due to the change in climate that means the predictions based on PAST CLIMATE don’t work anymore.
@k_eagar @DALupton @drkerrynphelps Echo RB’s comment - honorary degrees do not give you a title and Universities who give these should police the use of the titles.
If you’ve an honorary PhD, you are not supposed to call yourself Dr.
If you’re an Adjunct Professor, you don’t get to use the title Prof.
@socratesccost@drkerrynphelps Yup
So are MDs etc
The only reason this is even a discussion is because in Aus we have decided that doctor = medical.
There’s no reason why a chiropractor has any right to the title other than a perceived increase of trust.
@drkerrynphelps I do agree that there is a higher level of trust in someone calling themselves a doctor.
Perhaps this is the chance to regulate pharmacists who use such a title must not stock homeopathy products or sell formulations that don’t have adequate evidence behind them?
@drkerrynphelps While we allow chiropractors and osteopaths to use Dr titles with little more than a 3 year undergrad, this seems moot.
*says the person with a PhD who has often wondered why we use the Dr titles for medicos with a MBBS.
Well done to the team behind the scenes.
Shame that there’s not enough out front…
45 minutes to get a car that has already been paid for, and their online form has been filled out.
45 minutes.
And it’s still not here.

One such story recently is with @ARC_ASTRO3D :
Galaxies are much MUCH bigger than we thought.
