@skyylike92 A different style doesn’t justify changing key aspects of a character. Even a picture of puppy Scooby from all decades has more character than the entire teaser. If the first instinct is to change the groundworks to fit a narrative, then you don’t use the character.
Scooby’s charm as a character is that he isn’t a normal dog. Talking or not, he is a silly reject Great Dane. That’s the point of Scooby. 57 years, Scooby’s been the same every single year. A toon dog who eats sandwiches. Fundamentally changing those creates a new character.
@MarioEmmet Kinda insane to me that a fully finished movie is just sitting on a hard drive just so someone could add another 0 to their paycheck because heaven forbid residuals was paid. No other cost was needed to shadow dump it on Max. It was already paid for.

Wouldn’t be in this scenario of live action casting if any of y’all actually showed up for the 15 other Scooby projects in the past 5 years.

He’s a six foot Great Dane, when standing fully, the same height as Shaggy.
The companions are for puppy sized and little animals like gerbils. Scrappy-Doo type sized animals.
@Synthalotl@Wasting_Night Yeah, it’s Scooby. If promotion is lighter compared to DH, it’s be obvious. WB only licensed out the characters in hopes he would be the main focus back in December 2024 for the ScoobTober event this year. I’m not sure of the full contract, but Scooby is/was supposed to headline
