Indiana school districts need more tax dollars through referendums because mass illegal immigration from the last 5 years has doubled the english learners in schools. Indiana spends approximately $50 million a year on the state level for these programs. Local school districts spend additional money that is not usually reported.

Indianapolis Public Schools translation services cost by school year for non English speaking students:
2014-2015: $400,000
2025-2026: $7 million
An additional $5 million to $10 million are used for these same students through the special ed budget. Unknown cost, probably all get free meals through the districts free lunch program.
