The Assembly is all about parental and family engagement in education. It's a unique way of hearing diverse voices to help shape education policy in Scotland.
💛Assembly members recently worked with Education Scotland to gather parent and carer views to help shape their future direction.
We’d like to thank Education Scotland for their open and constructive approach to engaging with parent voice.

Powerful piece from @gary_staerck in the Edinburgh Reporter.
He speaks honestly about the battles parents have to overcome just to find support. These wonderfully written pieces quietly hit hard because so many families will recognise themselves in it.

Read @Assembly co-ordinator Kristin Armour's latest blog as she reflects on the power of collective voice, the privilege of working alongside the extraordinary @Assembly members and the pathway to change and improvement in Scottish education.
Lived experience must be recognised as evidence and and families must be included in dialogue alongside other stakeholders. We will continue to advocate for meaningful parental and carer involvement.

Many congrats to the amazing parent and carer members of the Assembly who so generously share their views and experiences to improve education for others. Thank you!
We will continue to support our parents and carers to be in these spaces, to have their lived experience recognised as evidence, and to be valued within government decision-making. Not just consulted, but listened to.
We were delighted to hear that the Scottish Assembly of Parents and Carers is to play a key role in the making the voices of parents and carers heard in the delivery of the Additional Support for Learning Review.
