Mark Carney's Liberal government keeps wasting resources targeting law-abiding hunters, farmers, and sport shooters, while criminals armed with illegal firearms continue to terrorize communities across the country.

That violence is fueled in large part by guns smuggled across our border from the United States. Conservatives are demanding Carney secure our ports and borders to stop the smuggling, and bring back mandatory jail time for violent gun crime instead of wasting time and resources punishing Canadians who are already following the law.

When Mark Carney smirks and dismissively says "I'll keep you posted" when asked about the status of negotiations with the U.S., he's not just brushing off the question with a smug non-answer: he's dismissing the real concerns of millions of Canadians whose jobs depend on that trade.

Conservatives will keep pushing for answers, certainty and results from the Carney Liberals who have shown that they won't stand up to Trump or deliver results here at home.

FACT CHECK: Once again, Mark Carney is misleading Canadians.

Of the 18,000 jobs created in June, almost all were part-time positions, while goods-producing sectors like manufacturing lost 43,700 jobs last month.

Canadians deserve a government that strengthens the economy, supports workers in every sector, and restores the hope of stable, full-time employment - not a Prime Minister who gaslights people to hide his own failures.

Weather permitting, a CC-130H Hercules from 424 Transport and Rescue Squadron at 8 Wing Trenton will conduct a flyby over my FREE Canada Day BBQ in Alliston tomorrow at approximately noon (11:30 am–1:30 pm).

Canada Day is a chance to reflect on the great many acts of service and sacrifice that have shaped our country over its 159 years — so take this moment to wave and cheer on the crew of 424 Squadron and the Royal Canadian Air Force as they fly overhead.

Steel and aluminum tariffs have doubled while manufacturing tariffs keep broadening. And nearly a year in, the Liberal government hasn't reduced a single tariff on Canadian goods.
