A thought-provoking day with @scot_2050 discussing the future of our nation. It was encouraging to hear ideas on long-term prosperity, innovation, and open minds to the potential of a Scottish Wealth Fund. We were pleased to raise the importance of engaging communities and voices beyond the traditional policy channels. #Scotland2050 #FutureScotland

We extend our thanks to Scotland’s @ScotGovFM for formally acknowledging Hinduphobia and recognising the work of the Scottish Hindu Foundation in bringing community voice to the forefront.
This moment is the result of a sustained, three year effort driven by volunteers across the country, individuals who gave their time, energy, and conviction to ensure the Hindu community was heard with clarity and dignity.
Through initiatives such as the Chai & Hustings series, we created space for meaningful dialogue between elected representatives political candidates and the community, demonstrating that democracy is strongest when participation is active and consistent.
This acknowledgement matters. It sets a clear precedent within public discourse and strengthens the foundation for progress across education, workplace inclusion, and community representation, while resonating with Hindus beyond Scotland as well.
Scotland is an inclusive nation, and our Scotland must continue to be one where Hindus feel safe, respected, and able to thrive. There is more to be done, but this is a significant step in the right direction.
We also extend our appreciation to Kirsten Oswald MSP for her role in helping bring this recognition forward.

The final hustings of our Dharmocracy Works series took place on 1st May at East Calder Bowling Club marking the 15th and concluding event in a nationwide effort to amplify constituent voices.
What started with the launch of the #ScottishHindu Manifesto and the first husting in East Dunbartonshire, Brought together the final candidates the session gave local residents and the Hindu community a direct platform to question those seeking to represent them.
The candidates brought an honest candour to topics such as policy and inclusive governance, signalling openness to deeper engagement with SHF and wider Scottish Hindu community. Discussions spanned key local issues school capacity, GP access, and infrastructure alongside critical concerns for the Hindu community, including Hinduphobia, representation, and effective crime reporting and policing.
Overall, the discussion was constructive, engaged, and reflective of both local priorities and community-specific concerns.
A strong conclusion to the Dharmocracy Works journey, come 7th of May we wish all the candidates who took part in our Chai and Hustings the best of luck for all their future endeavours.
