@HappyMotorhead The gas generator basically runs at the same constant speed, and I suspect uses less gas than normal gas engines. No stomping on the gas and dumping huge amounts of gas into the engine. Down shifting also uses more gas.

This was the argument made a few years ago of hybrids.
