Electric bills are way too high — particularly PG&E — and plug-in solar is a great way to lower those bills. I’m authoring legislation to allow Californians to easily use these devices; it’s currently quite hard, if not impossible, for people to do so.

You just plug them in, and you draw less power from the grid. Our bill is near the finish line. The monopoly utilities are fighting us, but we have momentum.

Connie Chan's campaign is now trying to spin the thousands in corporate PAC money Chan took, saying the donor is a "cooperative,” not a “corporation.” 🙄

Let's take a look at that “cooperative”:

1) It has a “corporate headquarters,” per its own website.

2) In 2024, its estimated revenue was $1.5 billion.

3) It controls 8.5% of all U.S. sugar production and is the largest beet sugar producer in the nation.

4) Its CEO makes $2.4 million.

5) It spends $3 million in federal lobbying, making it a major agribusiness player.

6) “Its PAC has quadrupled in size in the last decade. It is among the 20 largest in the country, and the largest in the agriculture sector.”

7) It locked out 1,300 union workers for nearly two years while its executives received record pay.

9) Since 2008, it’s paid more than $700,000 in Minnesota pollution fines.

I don’t take corporate PAC money. Yesterday, we found out my opponent does. 

Our political system is awash with corporate money. Throughout my campaign, I’ve promised to vote to ban congressional stock trading, support overturning Citizens United, and refuse to take corporate PAC money. 

My opponent has made the same promises.

But new reporting from the @sfstandard shows she took thousands from a corporate PAC.

Even worse, the PAC she took money from is infamous for being one of the largest funders of election deniers in Congress.

When politicians lie to voters, it destroys trust in government. My opponent should return the money and apologize for trying to deceive San Franciscans.
