In our study, we found that real-time EGJ grading is harder than we think. AFS classification showed fair agreement between endoscopists—much lower than prior still-image studies. An opportunity for better education + AI support.

📚 Interobserver Agreement of the American Foregut Society Esophagogastric Junction Classification: A Prospective Observational Study

✅ AFS EGJ classification demonstrated fair interobserver agreement between endoscopists for patients referred for endoscopy for evaluation of GERD which has implications for widespread implementation.
