@HoCStaffer I served in Germany in the 80's. Many of the NATO countries had conscripts. They were terrible soldiers. Volunteer is the only way. Make it more attractive as a job option. For example I wanted to be a cop. Needed to be 21. Joined the army at 17 to mark time.

@NotaliaMateo They know what restricted weapons you have. They do not know what non-restricted you have. Many of the guns they are banning were once non-restricted. They would have no idea how many/where they are. Smart answer " I sold that one a long time ago".
