I remember being in college and noting that the guys I was around mostly kept quiet about the whole thing carefully calculating what was said to who.

Basically I just stopped ignoring observable reality, and accepted a couple inconvenient/uncomfortable truths and have tried to retain a broadly leftwing worldview, while now accounting for:

- There are massively toxic cultural issues in the black community in particular that need to be addressed
- Hating white people is the single most important part of progressive ideological orthodoxy. This is a bad thing
- Being poor doesn't make you commit crimes. Being stupid and having low impulse control makes you commit crimes. It also makes you poor.
- Most gay men do not molest kids. But the proportion that DOES is much bigger tham the proportion of straight men that does, and the gay community is Wayyyyyyy too tolerant of this
- There's a large subset of the trans community who are spending 8 hours a day talking to your child on discord and trying to convince them they've always secretly felt like a girl too
- unchecked immigration is fundamentally at odds with a generous social safety net
- certain cultures are worse than others and incompatible with day to day life in a western country

When I was 22 living in Vegas with my poker buddies we invented a game every time we went out.

If you got REJECTED 5 times by girls you got the night FREE.

All drinks & food was covered by the other guys.

It made getting rejected a positive thing!

You approached unattainable girls because you quickly realized there is no BAD RESULT.

They say no, who cares, you never see them again & get a point.

They say yes, you invite them to join, & have a fun night.

Fear of failure & rejection stops 99% of people.
