Reflecting on 2025, a meaningful collaboration almost didn’t happen. I almost dismissed an email from Dr. Arjun M C, a physician in India, as spam. I took a chance. We piloted a mental health chatbot, and he guest lectured for me at @UCLA . My lesson: Invest in people near or far
Excited to have my generative #AI research featured in article on #UCLA’s AI pilot project that is informing campus AI strategy #digitalhealth#healthcare https://t.co/8YE9xB5x6q
An invigorating day at #vmed25 learning how #immersivetechnology is improving provider and patient education and helping the environment by reducing dependence on the aspects of healthcare most responsible for pollution (e.g., medications). #vr#ar
It was an inspiring #imsh25. I met so many innovators like James Beckmann with Dr. Hologram that is reshaping the virtual meeting and clinical space with new #ai and holographic technology as I’m demonstrating below with my holographic image.
Excited to enter 2025 with a Journal of Child Life publication bringing more visibility to the #childlifespecialist role supporting pediatric patients before surgery and the potential for Surgery Prep, our #vr app, to assist. #childlife@JWagnerMD

It's not easy to foster engagement at a virtual conference. @CPCharity and Children's Hospital Colorado have it figured out. Navigating my avatar through Gather Town to meet other Pediatric Gaming and Technology Symposium attendees between presentations.
Excited to present on ways to psychologically prepare pediatric patients for medical procedures and discuss #Surgery Prep, our #VR solution, at the
2024 Gaming & Technology Symposium https://t.co/V3OvSiobT1 #Health#Unity@JWagnerMD@CPCharity
Exciting day for us launching Mrs. Patterson, an #ai patient designed to help medical students practice difficult patient conversations through a simulated phone call. Thanks to Kranesh (seated), our first official tester. #UCLA#chatbot#Simulation
Excited to share promising results from #ucla study using Surgery Prep, our #vr app for #pediatric patients before #surgery , at @CedasSinai Virtual Medicine conference #vmed24. @JWagnerMD
Hi! I'm attending Cedars-Sinai Virtual Medicine Conference 2024 #vMed24#virtualmedconf#BrennanSpiegel. Let's start connecting with each other now. @virtualmedconf - via Whova event app https://t.co/Jka6qi9m59
A Comforting VR Experience to Help Patients Prepare for Surgery Advances Saritasa and Before, Inc. as Finalists for the BOLD Awards https://t.co/ywD8qwbuf0 #VR@JWagnerMD
Grateful to collaborate with Alastair and other @HSRCza and @dgsomucla investigators on this important work.
Chatbots for HIV Prevention and Care: a Narrative Review https://t.co/LGgz7RC6gz
Excited to work with #ucla colleagues on our recently funded NCI pilot study. We'll be developing a #VirtualReality training module for medical students to rehearse delivering the news of an abnormal mammogram to a computer-generated patient. #BreastCancerAwareness#breastcancer
@JohnNosta@Doctor_V@medikalife Agree. That is the reason we end up with so many digital health pilot studies that never scale beyond the pilot phase (pilotitis).
It's been an amazing week as a @HarvardMacy scholar. Zoom fatigue was no match for the engaging speakers, camaraderie, and knowledge we left with. So many lessons, e.g., "pilot teaching" to test new material similar to pilot studies to evaluate feasibility.
