Gunna raise my head above the mental health parapet to say this is a really good and considered thread. My biggest frustration with stuff like this is it feeds into a narrative that meds are a “quick fix” or an “easy way out.” (1/7)
Great that this guidance is being updated - and lots of sensible sounding advice in there.
One thing I would note: Just as we need to break the stigma around mental health we need to break the stigma around medicating for it where appropriate.

And we also shouldn’t overlook how upsetting, isolating and harmful an experience it can be to be told to go for a run or do yoga when you’re experiencing a crisis. (6/7)
Not even 72 hours into British Summer Time, I’m in shorts and the people over the road are having an actual real-life bbq. I’m not used to this level of debauchery.
