In 2019, Trump was forced to cancel plans to hold the G7 at his own golf club amid GOP objections to self dealing. In 2026, he will hold the G20 at his own golf club and the critics have gone silent. How Trump has moved the ethical line in his second term. https://t.co/OVU9xhF3jA

The DOJ is still refusing to release the actual videos.

Simon has been found dead, reportedly from "suicide." RIP to Simon and to all whistleblowers who have died too young.

I am shocked that Martin was not given a flag hitting Lamar, and then grabbing his leg and forcing him down after he released the ball. The way QBs are protected, it should have been called.

[Scott C Philips @ScottCPhilips]

@jeffzrebiec They might need him back today just to win. Ravens line way below par. Plus battling refs

[Scott C Philips @ScottCPhilips]

@RussellStReport @NFLOfficiating It almost seems like it’s maybe too obvious but are the referees on the take?

Trump: "I know more about inflation, I know more about everything than anybody in this room. Anybody anywhere in the world. Well, there's a woman sitting right over there. She's a housewife but she's very good. She got a natural instinct for business. She perhaps knows more than I do but I actually don't think so."

@TerpsFootball How much more does the school need to see? It’s brutally bad.

@CFBTalkDaily @TerpsFootball This is a joke, right?

Tony Gwynn loved tee work built around staying inside the ball and driving it the other way through the 5.5 hole. There are plenty of instructional clips of him teaching that approach, even though this exact session isn't dated.

The drill looks simple because it is. Gwynn's genius was doing simple bat-control work with a level of precision that eventually produced eight batting titles.

Our Virginia Early Voting tracker is live, and it's the most interesting state so far.

Before voting began, our model expected a Harris +9.8 electorate. Strong low-propensity Democratic turnout has already moved that estimate to Harris +10.4.

Inflation numbers came out today, and the official story is that inflation went down. What the headline number doesn't tell you is that the government changed how inflation is calculated in the same release. A month ago, they said July inflation was 3.7%. Today, they recalculated July with the new formula and it dropped to 3.36%. If you measure August the same way as the months before it, inflation comes out around 3.8%, which means it went up. They didn't bring inflation down, they just changed how they calculate it.
Bessent did something similar with CPI last month. You only modify the way you calculate if they numbers are that bad. They genuinely thought we wouldn't notice...

CNN is granted access inside an immigration court hearing where dozens of children facing deportation, some as young as three years old, appealed to stay in the United States. Many of them facing the judge without an attorney representing them.

[Bill Madden @maddenifico]

A Ruling That Can Only Be Described as Pure Evil

On Tuesday, in an unsigned emergency order that reads like a permission slip for suffering, the far-right Roberts Supreme Court cleared the way for third-country deportations. Immigrants can now be dumped in countries they have never lived in — places the U.S. itself has accused of torture and abuse — without a real chance to object.

The order lets the sadistic authoritarian Trump administration restart its Nazi-inspired rapid-removal machine: people shipped to Liberia, Equatorial Guinea, the Central African Republic, and other dumping grounds, often with little notice and no meaningful hearing. The destination is not their home. The risk is persecution, torture, and death. The Court did not bother to explain itself. The three liberal justices dissented.

This is not a technical stay. It is a green light for a policy whose whole design is to terrorize people by sending them somewhere worse than the place they fled. If cruelty were not the point, they would not need the midnight order.

Once upon a time, Dan Wilson was the second-best throwing catcher in the league after Pudge Rodriguez.

He caught Randy Johnson more than any other catcher did, working as the Big Unit's battery-mate for 742.2 innings across 109 games. The tall lefty had a 3.03 ERA and 11.9 K/9 with Wilson behind the dish, both significantly better than his career marks.

He caught Jamie Moyer more than any other catcher did, working as the soft-tossing southpaw's battery-mate for 1237.2 innings across 195 games. With Wilson catching, Father Time allowed a paltry .248 BAA and an OPS against that was 15% better than his career average. Dan Wilson helped Jamie Moyer become a first-time All-Star at 40 years old in 2003.

Wilson joined the Mariners in 1994 and was an All-Star himself in 1996, when he batted .285 with 18 homers and 83 RBI. He was teammates with some of the greatest players in Mariners history: Ken Griffey Jr., A-Rod, Edgar Martinez, and Jay Buhner.

He was the starting catcher for the 2001 squad that won a record 116 games in the regular season. He called a good game and remains one of the best defensive catchers of all time, so it only seemed fitting that he would eventually skipper the Mariners, MLB's only current franchise to have never appeared in a World Series.

This week, they did This Man dirty.

Shame on Jerry Dipoto.

“Top corner, section 109, row 1. In fact, that seat doesn’t even exist in Atlanta.”
