It was an honour to join community members, advocates, volunteers, and leaders as Canada Post unveiled a new Places of Pride stamp recognizing The 519's incredible legacy and contribution to our country.

For 50 years, The 519 has been a place of support, advocacy, belonging, and hope for Toronto's 2SLGBTQI+ community. Its impact extends far beyond Toronto Centre, helping to build a more inclusive and welcoming Canada for everyone.

We're proud to support the work they do. This year, our government has provided $1.5 million to support The 519's programs and services, helping ensure they can continue creating spaces where people feel safe, supported, and connected.

Congratulations on 50 remarkable years, and Happy Pride Month!

Ce fut un honneur de me joindre aux membres de la communauté, aux militants, aux bénévoles et aux dirigeants lors de la présentation par Postes Canada d’un nouveau timbre de la série « Lieux de fierté », rendant hommage à l’incroyable héritage et à la contribution de The 519 à notre pays.

Depuis 50 ans, The 519 est un lieu de soutien, de revendication, d’appartenance et d’espoir pour la communauté 2ELGBTQI+ de Toronto. Son influence s'étend bien au-delà du centre de Toronto, contribuant à bâtir un Canada plus inclusif et accueillant pour tous.

Nous sommes fiers de soutenir le travail qu'ils accomplissent. Cette année, notre gouvernement a fourni 1,5 million de dollars pour soutenir les programmes et les services de The 519, contribuant ainsi à garantir qu'ils puissent continuer à créer des espaces où les gens se sentent en sécurité, soutenus et connectés.
