@JasonHanson2028 I'd suggest that in a good functioning biological system, and at earlier cutting time (before seed set) your resdues will melt rather quickly so longer stems is better. Ive found the flail residue is gone real fast. Might be a challenge finding a sickle not offset though?

@canolacouncil @ccga_ca Makes sense. I'd be surprised if any group is more opposed to seeing more biofuels than prairie farmers who consistently have fuel issues because of them. Have we not learned anything from the US biofuel lobby and the corn market? Maybe we can burn less fuel to manage emissions?

@Steve_ScienceNZ @FarmerSimonC Ah very good. Thank you both for the clarification. I think that compaction is an issue in many ag soils that doesnt get enough attention. Interesting that N fixing through Diazotrophs can work there under wet conditions when symbiotic N fixing capacity collapses.

@JasonHanson2028 Like so? 4 fields on a half section and some bush for grazing/wintering. Pipeline water down the center and shelterbelts on perimiter and crossence. 1 hayfield, 1 pasture, 2 in crop. Rotating over time as needed. Likely a section would be the right size to have more flexibility.

@rgstone1 Fair point. I like to follow it up with a second application of cultivator after harvest. You may choose to use your glyphosate tool instead at that point however. I think you'll be happy with the results of this multi tool approach.

@VerdiPlus I would have used never seize but don't remember much resistance. I think there is some tolerance on those hex shafts.
