Hola, soy palestino. 🇸
1947. La ONU me ofreció un estado. Junto a Israel. Fronteras, independencia, reconocimiento.
Me dio autonomía.
¿Democracia? No he tenido elecciones en casi 20 años.
Crazy footage from inside Soroka hospital from October 7th 2023
At 58 seconds you will see my friend's son Eitan Halley who survived in the bomb shelter that Aner Schapira was murdered in & which Hirsch Goldberg was kidnapped from.

First Fauda, now this.
Starting tomorrow, more than 80 MILLION Americans will have the opportunity to watch The Road Between Us: The Ultimate Rescue on Paramount Plus.
The film tells the extraordinary story of retired Israeli General Noam Tibon, who on October 7, 2023, took his gun, got in a car, and went to rescue his son, my dear friend and brother @amirtibon, his daughter-in-law and two young granddaughters as Gaza's terr0rists invaded Kibbutz Nahal Oz.
In all the pain and loss of October 7th, there are also many heroes who did everything to save others, let us help share their stories.
Truly one of the dumbest red cards I’ve seen. It feels like a very Israeli moment: passion and spontaneity, but no thought for what happens next. Those qualities can serve us well elsewhere. In football, when the team needs discipline, they cost us dearly time and again
GOAL! Sayed Abu Farchi with a header to draw Israel even at 1-1 with Austria but then picks up a 2nd yellow card for his celebration and is sent off with a red card leaving the Blue & White with 10-men in the 55th minute.

Google's AI now scans your emails and attachments, bank statements, tax files, medical letters, all of it. It turned on by default, and there's a class-action lawsuit over how.
Here are 5 moves to shut it off, the switch is hidden in two places:
So what’s your alternative?
Blow off Trump and the American conservatives and put Israel’s faith in the hands of the Democratic Party, the majority of which just voted to try to impose a complete arms embargo on Israel, and which placed in Israel a painful embargo only six months after October 7?
The problem began with Oslo. Israel was told to take a risk for peace. It gambled its security and almost its life for the delusion, and it legitimized a “national” movement whose very essence was the negation of Israel.
And yet, when the bill came due on the inevitable charge, all those who told Israel to take risks for peace either disappeared or had nothing more creative to say to Israel other than take even more risks for peace. Europe in particular turned dangerously hostile.
None stood by Israel unconditionally as promised. It was a betrayal not only of Israel in general , but of Israel’s peace camp in particular .
Add to this the complete silence, or frankly even cowered embrace, on the left and Democratic Party in policing its own left-anchored explosion of antisemitism.
So don’t wonder now why Israelis voted in the right in Israel almost uninterrupted for two decades, why they don’t take seriously the unsolicited advice from those who just weren’t there when Israel needed them most to stand up, for them, and why Israel’s peace camp is a shrinking minority.
And don’t wonder why those who were voted into office seek the friendship of whoever is more supportive of Israel right now; they haven’t the luxury to indulge the moral agony of the progressive camp of American Jews trying to square their Jewishness with their antithetical progressive secular religion.
Honestly, the only ones who have stepped up to the plate to remind us of Israel’s sacrifices and the PLOs persistence rejection of Israel’s existence in those critical years was Bill Clinton lately, and Denis Ross has at least tried to be somewhat honest.
If there were still a strong centrist soul to the Democratic Party that stands firmly against antisemitism, supports Israel in its just struggle to survive, and actually stands with Israel as they had promised, then maybe there might be a basis of return to careful bipartisanship.
But until then, Israeli leaders have to work with what they have.
The Israeli reality show Race for a Million (the Israeli version of Amazing Race) has provided an extraordinary moment.
A contestant named Omri, who lost his left leg in the war, encountered a task for the first time that he was unable to perform due to his condition. Another team, who had already completed the task and could have gone forward and guaranteed advancing to the next stage, decided to help. The male member of the team replaced Omri and performed the task again with Omri's teammate Itay.
THIS is Israel and these are Israelis as I know them.
I have been to Israel several times in my life, but this is my first trip since October 7th. I found myself as an observer more on this trip more than I have in the past. I’m an American, so I view everything through that lens. The thing I have noticed is that Israel is living a true American ideal, but in their own unique way. It is a democracy, it is capitalist, the people are religious, they believe in G-d and live it. Getting married young is common and they have big beautiful families, with the highest birthrate in developed nations. Israelis value education, children, and there are playgrounds everywhere. Israelis are patriotic, they serve in the military, and they love their country, but definitely disagree on how things should be politically. Yet, there are flags everywhere. People dress respectfully and modestly. Yet, there is a freedom where you can still live here and not be any of those things. No place is perfect, you can see why Waze was invented here, because the traffic sucks and you will get ripped off at the shuk, but go anyway because the food is so good and fresh. These are just my observations, I could be wrong, but there does seem to be a joy. I mean seriously how upset can you be when there are kids everywhere, and you get to walk by your second wedding car parade in the middle of the day on a Thursday.
@realajedelman Amazing work, will donate. Can you explain why you’re paying the entirety of costs? I’m surprised that you get zero funding from the government
The most powerful video you will see today.
Israeli Matan Angrest was held hostage by Hamas in Gaza for two years of torture, abuse, and starvation.
Yesterday, as a free man, he finally returned as a fan to Maccabi Haifa, his favorite football team.
He was welcomed as a hero.
It’s absolutely wild to think about how many times Jews within the Persian Empire were forced to convert to Islam.
I often think about Kitāb-i Anusī (The Book of a Forced Convert) by Bābāī ben Luṭf, the first known Judeo-Persian chronicle. It recounts the periodic persecutions of Iranian Jews of the Ṣafavid era (1501–1736).
I vividly remember learning about it over 10 years ago and being struck by the idea of living a life so defined by repeated forced conversions that you felt compelled to document it. And not just document it! it’s written in rhymed couplets in the masnavī form, spanning 5,115 verses.
For anyone doubting its authenticity, Kitāb-i Anusī is corroborated by references to external events that align with royal Iranian chronicles and other sources.
Of course, the pain of forced conversion didn’t start with this book, nor did it end when it was written. Jewish communities across Iran repeatedly faced upheavals. For example, Mashhad’s Jewish population became a center of forced conversion in 1839 during the infamous Allāhdād (lit. "God’s Justice"). A hostile mob stormed Mashhad’s Jewish quarter, known as the ʿīdgāh, looted homes, destroyed Tora scrolls, abducted young girls, and killed dozens.
Under the threat of annihilation, the community outwardly converted to Islam, beginning over a century of dual existence as Jadīd-i Islām (“New Converts to Islam”). While practicing Islam in public, they maintained their Jewish identity in secret, with underground synagogues and hidden rituals.
What’s fascinating is the resilience of these communities. Mashhad’s Jews managed to preserve their identity even under intense scrutiny. The anusim (forced converts) had to creatively navigate challenges like Shabbath observance, kosher laws, and secret education, all while appearing to adhere to Islam.
In Mashhad, by the mid-20th century, the community cautiously began to practice Judaism openly during the Pahlavi era. After the Islamic Revolution of 1979, many Mashhadi Jews emigrated to Israel or the United States, where they remain tightly knit, their cultural and religious practices deeply informed by this history.
Understanding these histories gave me a deeper appreciation for my Mashadi Persian friends and their community. Their resilience and unique cultural practices suddenly made so much more sense.
It's heartbreaking to recognize the overwhelming traumas we all carry from such histories.
On Tucker and Megyn...
Something hit me last night outside of their obvious descent into conspiracy riddled madness and endless chase for every last click.
Both of them came from mainstream media and are still relatively new to the online world. This isn’t the place they wanted to be, rather it’s the place they were banished to.
They come from the cutthroat mainstream world which only cares about views and egos. So their behavior in this ecosystem is just replicating that. They love the feuds, the quest for ratings, the little lies, the backstabbing, because that’s all they knew from their previous lives.
The online word was built by people who forged trusted audiences over long periods of time. Not people who were just given a flashy set, smacked with a lot of makeup and sat behind high contrast lighting and a shiny desk.
Trust and authenticity is the key in this world, but that’s not the world they come from.
Tucker was going down this path for awhile, and Megyn saw clicks and attention so dove in. As their ship sinks, they’re gripping onto each other like Rose and Jack at the end of Titanic.
Their former mainstream colleagues have lost respect for them, and they’ve chosen to spit in the faces of the new media people who they think they’re better than.
As they float in the icy waters of conspiracy and clicks, it’s important to note they never wanted to be in this space to begin with. They genuinely think they’re better than everyone else in the game because of their names, but that doesn’t fly in the online world.
On cable news you can lie to your audience over and over, and they’ll just keep tuning in because it’s all they know.
In the online world people will wisen up and find better choices.
They have chosen each other.
We’ll see how that works out for them…
