@nitwitschool At this point, I am wondering why the desperation. Is the reason they are looking at Babcock is because every other coach wont touch the Oilers because of the way they treated Knoblauch, and Woodcroft before him?
@CofRedCentral I watched the final tens mins of the first period. I was very surprised that Colorado gave up a 3 goal lead. I think the Avs will steal 1 or 2 games, but Vegas is heading to the Finals.
@miketgould To move up would require the Flames to reset the rebuild essentially. No one is moving off their picks unless it is an unbelievable deal, or an owner wants to use AI to act a GM. Pick 6th and move on. I am more interested in Vegas' pick and where it will land.
@NHLsuperfan85@CofRedCentral There will be a lot of speculation until the playoffs are over. San Jose is willing to listen to offers apparently, but is any team willing to pay the price? The Flames are also in position to either draft the Ruck Twins or trade a pick so another team could draft them.
@NHLsuperfan85@CofRedCentral If stenberg fell to 3rd I would be surprised. SJ can always trade for defense. Stenberg on a line with Celebrini is too hard to pass up.
@HoustonSailer@Fan960Steinberg The Flames are going to have to be creative and find that superstar in the later rounds. It is much harder, but it can be done. 6th overall still gives them a damn good player. Though the silver lining is Toronto's upper managment will find a way to mess this up.
@miketgould Even if they pick 6 overall it is still a decent pick. If he is available, maybe the Flames move to 5 to pick Malhotra. If they do pick 6, as long as Toronto transfers their pick to Boston, I will be happy.
@flamesfever@CofRedCentral I don't know. Doesn't a win against the Flames mean they won't face The Avs in the first round? I would say a potentially easier path to the 2nd round would be a good motivator. Rangers could spoil home ice advantage for Tampa. So the games aren't meaningless.
@CofRedCentral The NHL loves to shoot itself in the foot, don't they. Great PR from Olympics, and 4 nations. Then they irrationally defend their laissez-faire attitude towards player safety. I wonder how before the nhl has another Moore/Bertuzzi incident. I am glad Bettman is retiring.
@miketgould No matter how mild the winter is, there is always one last snow dump in April. There is a reason everyone says wait until may long to switch over.
@CofRedCentral Because it is the only time Edmonton is going to host a championship. That or Bettman probably owes Katz a favor. I am surprised Foley isn't pushing it to go to Vegas. Especially considering The Sens got their 1st round pick back.
@CofRedCentral@simoncashmore I still think the stalling is to either to get teams to give a reasonable deal that is worth 3 years of salary retention, or stalling to see if they need to retain on Coleman. It could also be stalling until July 1 when Markstrom's and Andersson's salaries come off the books.
