So long, America🫡🇺🇸
49 days ago we landed in the USA to follow our country at the World Cup. We had no idea it would turn into the trip of a lifetime.
Thank you to everyone who followed along, and to all the people we met who made this journey even more special. We honestly don’t have the words to express how grateful we are for everything you did for us.
This trip exceeded every expectation we had. We came here with an open mind, wanting to experience as much of the country as possible. I still remember telling my friends on the flight to Atlanta that I hoped we’d get to meet a few locals on this trip. Now we’re flying home with friends all across the USA.
Before we came, we heard so many stereotypes and warnings about America. People told us about safety concerns, that they might check our social media at the border, and all kinds of other things. None of it matched our experience. This was probably the most welcoming country we’ve ever visited.
So if you have the chance to travel, do it. The world isn’t nearly as bad as the media often makes it seem. 99% of people are awesome!
I heard this quote somewhere during the World Cup, and I think it sums up our experience perfectly:
“If you want to hate the world, watch the news. If you want to love it, travel it.”
Thank you, America ❤️🇺🇸
I was born in Germany, I grew up in Spain, I’ve lived in the US for 15 years, and I’ve been a US citizen for about a year.
I never really understood patriotism until I became American.
Usually, when people move to other countries they are expats. A German in Spain for example. When people move to America they become American.
It’s the greatest country on earth and an experiment worth fighting for.
Happy 4th of July. 🎆
Imagine being so heavily propagandized that you expect America to be a dangerous, hateful place… and then you get here.
This German fan spent weeks traveling across the United States and said the biggest surprise wasn’t the soccer. It was how kind Americans were. He felt safe. Strangers went out of their way to help him. He was so overwhelmed that he cried.
The world’s perception of America is often shaped by headlines, not reality. This video is a reminder that one of our biggest exports isn’t just movies or music, it’s misinformation about who Americans actually are.
Praying for the General Assembly of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church that starts today and runs this week - this is the denomination that ordained me (2001) and where I have my ministerial credentials.
Please join me in praying for them - so many dear friends, colleagues, and members of past churches and presbyteries that I have served with.
To my fellow presbyters:
Throughout our history, we have been a loving and charitable group. I would encourage you to remember that our highest goal is to honor the Lord Jesus and to be faithful to His Word. We can get distracted and get into our "camps" and our traditions. At the end of the day, we must heed Titus' admonition:
"He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it."
Without this adherence, we are lost without rudders.
As you vote, intercede, worship, campaign, and discuss serious matters - remember that faithfulness to your church, presbytery, or anyone else is completely subservient to the Lord Jesus and adhering to the Word and bearing WHATEVER the cost of doing so. Yes, EVEN above the denomination itself!
May His name be honored...for the "gates of hell will never prevail against His Church."

NARCISSISM IS EVERYWHERE
We live in a day where the word "narcissist" gets thrown around like confetti.
Spouses, usually both hurting and both acting out in pain, point at each other with a confident self-diagnosis. Whether they actually have it or not is almost beside the point. For the record, the NIH puts the actual clinical rate somewhere between 0.5% and 6.2% of the population.
But here's what I've come to believe, and it's harder to swallow than the misdiagnosis problem:
Modern American culture is almost entirely narcissistic.
I used to scoff at how freely the word got thrown around. A narcissist under every rock. But the more I look at what we've built, like our media, our social feeds, our parenting culture, our politics, the more I realize the scoffing was wrong. The diagnosis is right. We just applied it too narrowly.
Narcissism, at its core, is this: I am the most special person in the world. Look at me. Celebrate me. Serve me. And if you don't? There will be consequences.
Here's what it looks like in practice:
-You don't share well.
-You don't lose gracefully.
-You don't care much when others are hurting.
-You get mad, or go cold, when you don't get what you want.
Sound familiar? Because it should. We see it everywhere. People who won't even make eye contact when they pass you on the street. People who leave their trash wherever they stand. People who cut you off in traffic without a second thought. Letting someone in ahead of you? That's practically a countercultural act now.
And it is getting worse.
The Bible Has a Word for This
The Bible doesn't call it narcissism. It calls it sin. And specifically, it calls it the sin of the last days.
Paul warned Timothy plainly: "In the last days, people will be lovers of themselves" (2 Timothy 3:1-2). This isn't a new observation. It's ancient prophecy describing exactly what we're living through. Self-worship dressed up in modern clothes.
Proverbs 16:18 puts it even more directly: "Pride goes before destruction." What we're watching unfold in our culture is not just a sociological trend. It is spiritual. It has a name. And it has a trajectory.
I want to be clear. I'm not saying clinical narcissism doesn't exist. It does. But the bigger problem is that narcissism has become the default setting of our culture. The water we swim in. The air we breathe.
We live in a day where selfishness, victimhood, blame-shifting, and zero personal ownership rule the day. And the terrifying part? Most people don't even notice it in themselves, because everyone around them is doing the same thing.
God Made Marriage to Strengthen and Build Society
Here's what most people miss in this conversation: God didn't just design marriage for romance. He designed it as the foundational building block of civilization.
The family, God's design for it built on covenant and selfless love, was always meant to be the place where narcissism goes to die. Where children see a different model. Where self-interest bows to something greater. Where the "I am the center of the universe" posture gets dismantled daily by the demands and the beauty of real love (Ephesians 5:25-33).
Make no mistake about this: the collapse of the family is the primary driver of our narcissistic culture. Not social media. Not politics. Not the economy. The family.
When the family breaks, when children grow up watching their parents compete for their affection through gifts and manipulation, when they watch mom and dad lob bombs at each other and use them as weapons, what do those children learn? They learn that the world revolves around whoever screams the loudest. They learn that love is conditional, transactional, and disposable. They learn narcissism. Not from the internet. From home.
And then we wonder why our culture looks the way it does.
One of the biggest lies the enemy has sold our generation is this: divorce doesn't have lasting consequences. That you can blow up the family structure and the kids will be fine. That the long-term effects don’t ripple out to generations.
Sadly, that’s just not the case.
There Is Hope Here
If you come from a broken family, or if you're presently divorced, hear me on this: I am not casting blame on you personally. I'm not trying to pile guilt on top of pain you're already carrying. I know this is complicated. I know many of you did not choose what happened to your family.
What I'm doing is calling us back. Back to God's design. Back to the standard He set because He set it for our good, and for the good of the generations that come after us (Deuteronomy 7:9).
That's why God's word says plainly: "God hates divorce" (Malachi 2:16). Not because He hates people who are divorced. But because He knows the damage it leaves behind. He sees the children. He sees the generational fractures. He is not confused about what's at stake.
For the sake of our world, our country, and the generation coming behind us, we have to be fiercely, stubbornly, relentlessly devoted to God's design for covenantal marriage.
Not contractual marriage. The world thinks in contracts: you give, then I'll give. You perform, then I'll perform. And the moment one person stops performing? The contract is void.
Covenantal marriage is different. It says: I will love you even when you will not reciprocate. It mirrors the way God loves us, not based on our performance, but based on His commitment (Romans 5:8). That is the model. That is the design. And it works because it's built on something that doesn't collapse when things get hard.
That is why Christian marriage has always been the place where culture is built, sustained, and renewed. When marriages are strong, families are strong. When families are strong, communities are strong. When communities are strong, culture has a fighting chance.
We Have to Take a Stand
Guys, this is not a small thing. We are not having a nice conversation about relationships. We are talking about the ground floor of civilization, and it is crumbling.
Our first neighbor has always been our spouse. Then our children. Then our churches and communities and the culture around us (Acts 1:8). That's the order. That's the design. And when we get that order right, everything else has a chance.
So take a stand for your marriage. For your home. Expect the spiritual battle. Lean on the Lord for strength. Welcome Him daily into your home, into your conversations, into the hard moments.
If you are struggling to connect with your spouse, that is not a small problem. It is ripe ground for things to get worse.
If you have difficulty navigating conflict, your marriage needs the Gospel.
If you don't know how to reconnect with each other, you need to prioritize help now. Not eventually. Now.
That's exactly why we do what we do. Over nearly seven years of Turnaround Marriage, Rachel and I have wanted to quit hundreds of times. But this work is holy, and it is too important. There are too many people who need Godly, biblical help. The world's answers are not working, and people need real answers.
A lot is at stake.
Marriages.
Their children and the next generation.
Our very culture.
If you need help, book a breakthrough call and let's see how we can help: https://t.co/IHkvKxzZKI

Something I have been thinking about…
Christians, we are called to be a people of worship because we are Temples of the Holy Spirit. We are called to honor and love Him with our lives — to worship Him "in Spirit and in Truth." Jesus taught us to love Him with all of our hearts, all of our souls, all of our minds, and all of our strength.
I think we can get into our little corners of the Kingdom where some churches emphasize the teaching and preaching (or getting everything right). Some emphasize praise and worship. Some the community. Others the outreach. All of these are obviously good — but we can get pigeonholed and forget that we are called to live out all of it in our walk with Christ.
I want my mind to honor Him as I learn of Him. I want my theology to be aligned with His Word and His heart.
I want my heart to be filled with His love. To have the heart of Christ. To love the lost and to love my fellow Christian.
I want my body to be engaged in worship in every way. My Presbyterian / Reformed brothers and sisters, remember the Psalms and the call to engage our bodies with worship.
And I want to use my strength to glorify God in every way. That whatever I do, “whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus.”
And more than anything, I want to live this out to impart to my wife and children.
I am so far from where I want to be, but I am thankful for the Spirit's prompting to be well-rounded in faith.
What is God teaching you?
“This lady’s world was shattered in one night. Her husband was having a secret affair with a married woman. The woman’s husband found them… and killed them both.
In an instant, she went from wife and mother of 5 (including a newborn) to widow — forced to raise her children alone while the ugly truth came out. Her life flipped upside down in the cruelest way.
But that’s only Part 1.
Watch how God showed up in the middle of her deepest pain and darkest valley.
The devil attacks us at our weakest moments — when we’re tired, distracted, vulnerable, or drifting. He knows exactly where to strike. But God meets us right there in the ashes. He redeems. He restores. He turns mourning into purpose.
If you’re walking through betrayal, loss, or a season that feels impossible right now… keep watching until the end. Her testimony is proof that no matter how broken it gets, there is hope on the other side.
Drop a 🙏 if this hit you. Share for someone who needs this reminder today.” 🙏🏻✝️
Here we have Delta Airlines flight from Hawaii to LA booting a family off because they needed one of the seats for a passenger on standby.. because Delta overbooked the flight.
I realize this happens a lot, but what makes this incident a little more insidious is that the flight attendant booting them off the plane threatened he and his wife with arrest , have their children taken away from them and placed in foster care . Additionally,no other accommodations would be made for this family.
The airline to my knowledge has acknowledged the incident apologized, and said they would be looking into things..
WHAT ?
What the hell happened to customer service and professionalism ?
Who freakin' Dey.
Saturday night, the #Bengals threw out the uncertainty of scouting, drafting, and developing with the No. 10 pick in the draft.
Instead, they pushed their chips to the middle of the table to acquire a known commodity. Ready for this? A force multiplier. An elite interior defensive player.
Hell. Yeah. Talk about a tiger changing its stripes. Talk about an organization throwing caution through a hurricane. I think I felt the ground shake in NKY when the news broke last night.
Finally, the Bengals possess a defensive player that causes opposing offensive coordinators to pause the tape, rewind, watch again, and then lose sleep. Lawrence has pressure numbers that defy logic. NFL analyst Warren Sharp notes Dexter Lawrence has 108 pressures since 2022 from the nose tackle spot. No one else has more than 32. My Butler match calculates that as 76 MORE pressures than ANYONE else. Whaaaaaaat?
Lawrence doesn't just impact, he wreaks havoc. And he's not putting out on the 18th hole of his career. He's only 28. He makes the defensive line better. He makes every aspect of this defense better.
Does it reek of job saving desperation from Duke Tobin, Zac Taylor and Al Golden? Maybe.
Does it show the power of an unhappy and impatient Burrow? Probably. Bottom line, Bengals ownership and the front office stopped worrying about the future and doubled down on the present.
The Bengals could have played it by their worn and tattered book and rolled the dice on the 10th pick. Maybe Caleb Downs. Maybe Jermod McCoy. But book this: Nobody at No. 10 was going to be Lawrence this season. No way. No how. Over the next 10 seasons? Eh, we can debate, if you like. I'll be over here, worrying about Week 1 and the 17 games ahead this season.
The most important year of Joe Burrow's career should always be this year. Not next year. Not two years from now. Last night, the Bengals turned the now into one big, eye rubbing, WOW!
Burrow famously said the Super Bowl window is his career. After three straight seasons of missing the playoffs, the Bengals squeegeed that window. This morning, I rubbed my eyes and looked out that window. I see a Super Bowl trophy, can't you? What a sight ladies and gentlemen, what a sight. It's beautiful. Most importantly, it's much more attainable than 24 hours ago. That's how it should always be.
Talk about a franchise narrative flipper.
Can I get a Who Dey?
The use of “Promentory” in The Last of the Mohicans (1992) is one of the most powerful pieces of music ever paired with action on screen. Pure cinematic adrenaline.
One of the most astonishing stories I have ever covered in evangelicalism is how evangelical leaders embraced and promoted Francis Collins, despite his rabid support of using aborted baby parts in federal research.
It was gruesome, it was abhorrent. Things like sewing the ears of aborted infants onto the backs of lab rats.
Of course, there’s plenty for evangelicals to criticize in Trump’s demeanor sometimes. But those like David French and Russell Moore who propped up Francis Collins are in absolutely zero position to offer that criticism as they have routinely lauded a man who is exponentially more immoral.
