@DavidCasteel70 @TinkerSec There's no law that prevents someone from entering the country simply for refusing to unlock their phone. It's a targeted action, prompted by Interpol/5E/police etc. Not in the same region as "random" power abuse. More TSA patdowns in 1 day than NZ customs phone unlocks ever
@DavidCasteel70 @TinkerSec I'm not sure your point here. There are mountains of evidence showing that US govt can access all your data without a warrant. In fact the NZ privacy commissioner excludes US as safe place for data storage because it doesn't meet requirements of NZ privacy Act.
@DavidCasteel70 @TinkerSec Weird tangent but okay, NZ has some of the strongest privacy laws in the world. There is certainly no indefinite detainment (refusal=fine). Irrelevant anyway, if you have something to hide you would simply backup your phone to cloud storage as the Act only applies to local data.
