@WGME A result of storm damage repairs being paid off. Now lets strengthen our electrical grid with stronger lines and polls to limit this kind of repair costs in the future.
@WGME CMP is trying to prevent costly storm damage and power outages with this proposal. That is something we should all support. The standard offer went up again this year with very little press coverage. The supply companies don't seem to be held to the same standards as CMP.
@mebeacon The quickest and easiest way to lower our electric bills would be for the state to remove all of their taxes and subsidies like net energy billing from our bills.
@TheMaineWire The state deserves it's share of criticism over our bills. State policies affect the cost through energy-efficiency programs, renewable energy requirements, net energy billing, and other initiatives.
@WGME I could argue that his anger was misdirected. The Legislature is as responsible as anyone for our high electricity bills. Net Energy Billing and other mandated subsidies put onto our bills by the state have helped drive our bills up.
@WGME Federal charges and possible years in jail for a stupid and dangerous stunt. Shooting up substations won't lower any of our bills and it caused about 10,000 people's to lose power.
