Young people responding to government-fueled inflation by embracing socialism is like getting sick from medication and asking the doctor to double the dose.
The reason your burritos and everything else is expensive is government, enabled by the Fed. Monetizing massive deficits costs you- period. State/local laws like hiking min wages and other rules makes it crazy expensive to run a business.ย
Govt is the problem, definitely not the solution, despite those preying on the economic illiteracy of the masses.
Just another reminder that if you want conservative values to win, then exercise them in your home.
Get married, have kids, donโt let the socialists educate them and we win in one generation, because the left despises the very institutions necessary for strong family growth.
@RoKhanna All but stopping the wars would absolutely devastate the economy and working class. Weโre struggling now, donโt go full blown command economy and destroy our country. I know smoking meth in CA is the thing to do, but ease up. Need to scale back the gov largess to give us a shot.
@GavinNewsom Guys a bad idea generator. The only thing trickling down from all of your Stateโs and the FedGov spending is inflation and the value of the dollar. Get back to skid row with all that crack smoking.
Taxation, spending, subsidies, monetary expansion, and central planning are repeatedly presented as the cure for the problems they helped create.
Then, when those policies fail to deliver, the answer is never less political control. It's always more.
At some point you have to ask whether the goal is solving the problem or expanding the power of the people claiming they'll solve it next time.
Every failure becomes the justification for another round of redistribution, taxation, and planning, while yesterday's failed promises are quietly forgotten.
No, you don't get it.
He does not have $1 trillion sitting in cash, it is 99% stock in his companies.
To make that wealth liquid would mean selling all that stock which would swiftly destroy *both* the companies (Tesla, SpaceX, others) and the wealth. If he sold it all, he'd end up with maybe $100b max, several hundred thousand people would be out of work, the companies ruined and many of their suppliers also ruined.
Okay, but now Elon has $100b in cash, and can "solve the world's problems".
$100b divided by the world's 8 billion people is $12
If you were in charge, several of the most innovative industrial companies in the world would be destroyed, hundreds of thousands out of work, and space would again close to human civilization for another generation.
But everyone on earth could have one nice meal and you could revel in your altruism.
