Despite the lack of ANY positives, DRM is still forced in many games. Piracy automatically becomes more reasonable.
Steam offers to ability for developers to distribute their games DRM-free and GoG is also a great alternative. There are no excuses for harming paying customers.
Also anti-tamper and modding obfuscation in general is a really redundant practice, notably for singleplayer games. This industry needs to see a lot of improvement.
A very based take from Running With Scissors.
Games as a service (GaaS) models are incredibly damaging in numerous ways. Ultimately, if you can't play without a connection, you don't actually own your copy of the game.
It won't stop, but you can choose not to open your wallets.
The idea of purchasing a single-player game that you won't be able to play without internet sets a bad precedent for game preservation.
Travelling without internet? No game
Want to play in the future? Servers out, no game
Don't allow this to be the norm, fight it while you can.
(don't actually shoot people lol, the POSTAL Dude does things differently)
Thank you Deji and JJ (KSI) for checking out SCP: 5K! ❤️
More improvements and content on the horizon.
