If one is living and boasting in the same sin rather than changing it points to a heart issue. The works don’t save you, rather they serve as an outward manifestation of one’s faith.

• I’m struggling with porn
• I’m fighting addiction

• I’m living in sin
• My child is rebelling

I respond: Are you a member of a strong, biblical church?

Many say no. The local church, the people of God, are the Lord’s support system for all these issues and more.

It is your local church where you will find instruction in righteousness, the blessings of the Lord’s Table, fellowship, correction, counseling, and accountability. If you don’t have a local biblical church, move heaven and earth to join one.

@Anglican_Boi InspiringPhilosophy has made good points on this topic along with the idea that children don’t have the ability to understand nor consent to this. Hence why legal contracts have a minimum age. Furthermore science proves the brain is not developed till 25.

@Anglican_Boi Exactly. It’s disturbing even if you remove our spiritual lens from the issue. Multiple studies show the adverse effects on the brain along with further promoting an industry know for abuse and mental instability. Promoting this towards children is especially disturbing.

@Reformed_Boi I think that is quite a fair assessment. Most views or ideas fail to encompass the relationship between the two. I think ideas that are wholly on one side are ignorant and or blind to reality. This is unfortunately the case with The SBC regardless of side.

There’s nothing in there saying your Sunday message has to be a 3-point sermon with cute, alliterated talking points!

It doesn’t even say it has to be a life coaching session!

You might be able to get away with teaching it as is. 🤔

To the pastor out there that's preparing his Sunday message by copying and pasting from a script created by AI.

Perhaps it feels like no big deal because you have completely relied on stealing from other commentaries for some time now and have simply given up on truly mining through the Scripture.

What you've just done is like a big, red flag telling you that you have a real problem.

Now is the time to step back into your role for real. Set aside all secondary sources and spend time isolated with just the text of Scripture. Prepare your message/study as much as possible without using any resources, before turning to others for help. This will, as you practice it week after week, retrain you to find the beauty, health, and wonder of Scripture. And never use AI like that again. It's like saying that a computer algorithm is good enough to replace a man of God working according to the gifting of God.

@MikeWingerii I understand the value of Bible lesson series for children’s and youth ministries however, I believe a good pastor should be studying and preparing their own sermons. My senior pastor has put in over 8 months of specific studying to teach Gen 1-11.

@MikeWingerii Progressivism allows one to pick and choose what they find acceptable. Additionally, it advocates eisegsis. This not only lowers God but in many cases is blasphemous to the Word and character of God.

The second one (which comes from a different person) deletes most of the original tweet to take it out of context and try to pretend there is a contradiction.

Sarcasm and misrepresentation can sometimes result in us being unable to think carefully.

@MikeWingerii Such a key lesson for me in my ministry. For a season I began to rely on extemporaneous preaching. This really hindered my walk and growth. It was only after stepping away from that role and church that supported it that I saw my error. Now I seek to teach from the overflow.

Pastors need to spend a lot of time in study and prayer so that they can teach valuable and needful things.

Some think they are good at extemporaneous preaching and learn to rely less and less on study and prayer. It may be that they are just good at stirring up crowds toward immediate sensations, but such behavior doesn’t, by itself, accomplish discipleship or the teaching of Scripture.

Charles Spurgeon said that a person could be good at extemporaneous preaching if he was generally steeped in study. If he was studying the Bible all the time then he would have a reservoir to pull from more easily when called to share spontaneously. But Spurgeon warned against confusing this with just being good at speaking without prep. He said that if you relied on such a supposed ability, to the neglect of study and prayer, your preaching would become worse and worse over time.
