I deleted Instagram because I was wasting too much time on Reels.

Then I just started watching Shorts instead.

That was the annoying part.

Deleting one app doesn’t fix much when every app has built the same infinite feed.

So with ScrollEclipse I’m trying something different:

keep the apps, kill the feeds.

I’ve now built the same Android app with 3 different AI coding tools.

Started with Gemini inside Android Studio.
Great for UI, but I kept running into problems once the actual functionality got more complex.
Then I moved to Codex.
It got most of the functionality working, but it took a lot of iterations — and somewhere along the way the app became much bigger than it needed to be.

Yesterday I moved the same project to Claude Code using the latest Opus model.
I didn’t rebuild the app from scratch.

I just continued from where I was.

Since then:
• finished the remaining functionality
• cleaned up a lot of unnecessary code
• reduced the app size by roughly 70%

I genuinely didn’t expect that big of a difference.

Still early, but Claude Code has been the biggest surprise for me so far

I always thought building the app would be the hard part. Turns out it's sitting here while 12 testers decide if the thing is any good 😅

Closed testing is basically showing me how many things I thought were “done” that actually weren’t.

Spent today benchmarking ScrollEclipse on a real device.

The app works. Now I’m fixing the boring stuff nobody sees — startup time, performance, edge cases.
