@MoMoPerry It’s unfortunate that past experiences from…junior high…are shading your judgements as a supposed grown woman. The group has been supportive of other “low level” actors in the area who have experienced legitimate harm from cis male actors.
@MoMoPerry But going out of your way to mock other actors’ income levels, diminish their achievements by calling them “low level”, or belittle their careers is incredibly telling. It says far more about your character than it does about theirs, especially you’re misinformed.
@MoMoPerry Additionally, bad-mouthing other actors simply because they may not have had the same experience as you is just bad form. We can have disagreements, different perspectives, and even moments of conflict with one another—that’s part of being human and part of theatrical work.
@MoMoPerry If you’ve been a target of past “mean girl mobs” then you should intimately understand what spreading false and inflammatory information does and how it makes you look.
@MoMoPerry 5: Calling others “low level” and suggesting that we’re living in a “permanent junior high” is, frankly, both dismissive and immature. You don’t have to agree with the existence of the list, but you should at least understand why it exists before making sweeping judgments.
@MoMoPerry 6: It’s not a list of simply “problematic” people—it’s a record of experiences with men whose behavior has been predatory. So no, you’re safe. But given the way you’ve spread misinformation and dismissed the real experiences of people who have dealt with predatory men, you might.
@MoMoPerry This ain’t a difference of opinion when you know not of what you speak. You’re not in the group so you only have second hand information. Not nearly enough to make such accusatory and juvenile statements about a large group of people.
@MoMoPerry 4: I’m disappointed in you, as a fellow woman, for not only spreading misinformation about people who are trying to protect themselves from harm, but also for talking down about your fellow theatre artists when you clearly don’t understand the situation you’re speaking about.
@MoMoPerry 3: In a world shaped by #MeToo and the reality of rampant sexual assault, I would hope a woman could understand why a resource like this is necessary. There are men in our theatre community—directors and actors—who have repeatedly demonstrated predatory behavior.
@MoMoPerry 2: group has always been a support space for non-cis male theatre artists to collaborate, share opportunities, and support each other. The list was created after members shared negative and predatory experiences with cis male actors, as a way to protect ourselves and warn others.
@Target what in the absolute blessed be the fruit are you trying to do with women’s clothing?? Throw the whole section out and start over.
Sincerely,
Sick of this Crap
The people angrily denouncing Rage Against the Machine for Tom Morello's leftist politics is one of the more hilarious things I have ever seen on the internet. WHAT MACHINE DID YOU THINK THEY HAVE BEEN RAGING AGAINST FOR DECADES? THE ICE CREAM MACHINE? THE ATM? LAWNMOWERS?
