You flooded the streets in your pre-planned victory parties. Not protests, celebrations. “Genocide” howled from your twisted mouths before we’d even counted our dead.
That day ripped the scales off our eyes, tore the blindfold off.
Jews who barely gave Israel or Zionism a thought suddenly saw it as clear as Waterford crystal.

A few generations after the Holocaust and here you were, proving exactly why we need our own land, our own army, our own unapologetic strength. No more trusting the world’s empty promises.

When I talk about the secret October 7 film of Hamas atrocities the IDF shows people, I inevitably have nightmares about it.

There’s a segment of the movie where Palestinians descend on a Jew they murdered the way my four dogs might descend on a piece of dropped hot dog.

Eyes shining, smiles bright, they proceed to mutilate and dismember the body with their bare hands. One Palestinian takes a bloody, ripped off Jewish limb and holds it over his head with pride, the way a child might hold a spelling bee trophy.

Blood splatters as the Palestinians merrily work. That’s what I dreamed about last night. Again.

So many people’s analysis of this conflict is fundamentally wrong. The people I can’t forgive are my fellow Democrats, who should know very well, some people are so bigoted they are willing to kill. This is the entire basis of the important work we’ve done legislatively protecting women, gay people and Black people.

I don’t understand why my party’s sympathies land with the terrorists over their victims. I think every single person willing to whitewash Hamas should have to see the film I did.

The number one reason children get hurt in this conflict is the Islamists are shameless in using them as human shields. This is the actual war crime.

I really don't hate anyone I used to be friends with. I have no expectations of them. They were wonderful people at one point who shared an empathy with me for the world. And given their capacity to think deeply, I just would hope that the day they find out they were wrong about Israel, and Zionism, they might behave like the people I once loved. I had a conversation with someone about being blocked by a now ex-friend on Facebook. Not a platform I use much anymore apart from posting about Israel from time-to-time. They asked me how I felt about losing some long-standing friendships so I explained to my well-meaning friend:

I have family who were murdered in the Shoah. My father, a refugee after WW2 living in the diaspora, put himself forward along with so many others ahead of what became the Six Day War. There was no proper mechanism to take advantage of this but he loved Israel and would have left without hesitation to go and fight.

I have friends who have fought in Israel’s wars after that and people I knew were kidnapped and slaughtered on 7th October. The carnage that day didn’t stay ‘over there’ - the death and destruction reached into the lives of people I know here in the UK, too.

And knowing what those savages did to our people, how they tortured our women, slaughtered them and r8p*d their corpses changed us all.

So if any of the pampered, privileged ‘be kind’ crowd think that I give the smallest, single, most solitary f*ck about whether I have their approval to be a Zionist or not, they are very badly mistaken. I couldn’t despise their Jew-hating posturing more.
