Meet Megha Rawal

A 45 year old nutritionist and fitness coach from Bandra, Mumbai.

On August 30, she was driving an Innova Crysta on John Baptist Road in Bandra West.

An 8 year old boy, Ansh Ravindra Gupta, was crossing the road after playing in a nearby garden when she hit and ran over him.

An eyewitness said that Megha was driving at high speed while talking on her phone.

Bystanders stopped the vehicle, and an auto-rickshaw driver helped put the injured child inside the SUV.

Megha then drove Ansh to Holy Family Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival at around 3:45 PM.

Megha Rawal was arrested by the Bandra Police.

She has been booked under BNS Sections 105, 281 and 125, along with Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act for dangerous driving.
