2025 was a tough year for children, with funding constraints making the challenges even greater. Yet, we stood by children and their families, ensuring they survive, learn, and stay protected. To kickstart the new year, we’re sharing 12 top highlights — one representing each month — celebrating the impact we made together.
#2025Highlights 1️⃣ – We supported communities in Bulilima, Zimbabwe, to cope with the effects of drought, reaching 4,272 children and 2,396 pregnant and breastfeeding mothers. Mothers and children received nutrient-rich porridge that boosted breastmilk supply and ensured their children were well fed. Beyond food, Mother-to-Mother Care Groups built knowledge on nutrition, hygiene, and child health — helping families thrive.
📢 @MoPSEZim , with support from @SaveChildrenZIM, has kicked off a 2-day Training of Trainers Programme on Positive Discipline in Bulawayo & Kadoma. Teachers from all 10 provinces are being equipped to champion supportive, non-punitive learning environments. @InfoMinZW
Today, MoPSE proudly launches the End Learning Poverty in Education Campaign, spearheaded by the African Union with the support of UNICEF they want to ensure that every child acquires foundational skills in reading, writing, and numeracy.
@MoPSEZim took delivery of 4000 THRASS tools which are multisensory teaching material for accessing the 44 phonemes of spoken English & the 120 most common graphemes of written English. PS Mhike said the tools will be distributed to 4000 disadvantaged schools during the 2nd term.
Meet Zinhle, 12, from Mangwe🇿🇼. She dreams of becoming a doctor. Zinhle can only realise her dream if she stays in school. That's why Save the Children advocates for quality, inclusive education for all children. #Education is her journey, and it should be every child's right.
"Education (Ed) is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today." - Malcolm X.
That's why we commit to working with 🇿🇼Govt & partners to improve access to ed. Part of our ambition for 2030 is all children learn from a quality basic education.
Foundational learning (reading, writing) is vital! However, many kids miss out. @SaveChildrenZIM supports 🇿🇼Gvt's efforts to improve this by providing learning materials & family support. Parents & caregivers, create learning homes! Repost to boost #FoundationalLearning.
