@WhiteHouse I’m willing to bet ten best british pounds that, despite his triumphant announcement, the US will at war with Iran by the end of the week. Any takers?
🚨 Jürgen Klopp has launched a scathing attack on the cooling breaks being used during this World Cup. 👊
"Football is being held hostage by executives sitting in air-conditioned offices.
These breaks are being presented as a shield for player welfare, a noble weapon against the heat. In reality, they are nothing more than a golden cage built for sponsors.
When I saw players standing around during cooling breaks while television timeouts dictated the rhythm of the match, I couldn't help but ask myself: who is the World Cup really serving?
The supporters? The players? Or the advertisers?
A World Cup match should flow like a river. Instead, we are building dams in the middle of it so commercials can be shown.
It's dangerous for the spirit of the game. Football used to be the main event, but it now risks becoming background music for an advertising show."
He didn't hold back. 👏👏
83% of British people are white
87% of MPs are white
92% of Police officers are white
94% of the House of Lords are white
85% of Britains richest families are white
The notion that Britain experiences systemic anti-white racism is absurd
It’s a far-right conspiracy
10 years ago Jo Cox was shot and stabbed to death in Birstall by a far right thug.
Do you remember the Farage \ Tommy Robinson riots that followed it,
No me neither.
R.I.P. Jo
RFK Jr has cut Alzheimers research.
Alzheimers.
One of the most devastating, urgent and increasing health problems we face today.
He's not interested.
He's a nasty piece of work.
@MartinSLewis If you want to see another one I can post the link but I’ve already reported it to https://t.co/VoCJOVLnq4. It was an advert on an Apple app.
10 years of scam adverts. I have the misfortune to be in 44% of them according to the police. I've sued. I've lobbied. I've cried at hideous cases of vulnerable people losing everything. Why has nothing been done. Please watch...
"Falmouth MP Jayne Kirkham reform of water industry."
It's incredible when you think about it, South West Water has just been fined £1.85 million for poisoning a whole town, Brixham win Devon, that's the 165th offence they're been found guilty of and yet they still have an operating licence?
What's the hells going on?

NHS SENT A DOCTOR A £180,000 BILL FOR REPORTING A PATIENT DEATH
A heart patient died at an NHS hospital. A doctor said it was avoidable. Nobody told the coroner.
That doctor was Dr Usha Prasad, the only female consultant cardiologist at Epsom and St Helier University NHS Trust.
She raised the alarm. She named it. She refused to stay quiet.
So the trust built a case against her. Forty-three clinical complaints, assembled and handed to the GMC to finish her off.
An independent cardiologist reviewed every single one. He found nothing wrong.
The GMC cleared her and revalidated her licence to practise.
The trust had thrown everything at her and come back empty-handed.
And then... they sent her a bill. Not just any bill. A £180,000 costs demand, which would be the largest ever imposed on a whistleblower at a UK employment tribunal.
Costs are awarded against claimants in fewer than 1 in 2,000 tribunal cases.
Dr Prasad apparently made the cut.
The former CEO reportedly offered her a deal: walk away, drop the whistleblowing claim, and he would make the disciplinary process disappear.
She said no.
What followed was years of hearings, cancelled proceedings, and a consultant so mentally broken by the process that she sometimes could not attend her own case.
Her colleagues described her as skilled, patient-centred, and well-liked. Nobody questioned her ability until the moment she questioned the trust.

Look what’s been built in Cardiff for swifts. My niece sent me these photos and said the structure was alive with birds. Heartening to see. It’s shaped like a swift in flight I think. Other towns have created similar swift nest sites including Exeter. Thank you for caring.
Anthony Head = elegance and charm. we first met at drama school in 1974. much more of a giggler than you see on telly. But I loved him as the sound engineer in our Comic Strip Bad News films. We had a little harmony singing group together in the early days after college. He also did a bit on my comedy podcast during lockdown which he left on a phone message, brilliant. A very old pal. 50 years! RIP Tony
I’ve been thinking a lot about the extraordinary outbursts of the President of the United States against female journalists... well, actually against journalists in general and journalism. But it feels like he saves his most childlike behavior and irrational language for female reporters, calling them all kinds of names that kids in kindergarten are given times out for. It’s stunning to me to witness such behavior from any leader, any CEO, any person of influence or importance. I’ve never witnessed someone like this raging, this weekend with @meetthepress host @kwelkernbc, just last week in the Oval Office with @cnn’s @kaitlancollins, calling women stupid or piggy, telling them to “smile”, calling them darling, demeaning their credibility. Every good man should denounce this behavior. Every person should be able to stand up for their colleagues and say “No more.”
Imagine this man screaming like this at your daughter, your wife, your sister, your mother... would you stand for it? No, you wouldn’t! And neither should any of us. It’s unacceptable and undignified. Period. End of story.
Thanks for your critique, Janet. We actually tried a couple of episodes where House (Hugh Laurie) (please put the brackets in the right place) gets it right first time, but they were only 6 minutes long. NBC weren’t happy. Then we tried some where House never gets it right and the patient dies. The audience wasn’t happy.
One could apply your trenchant analysis to other art forms: JS Bach wrote 30 Goldberg variations on the same chord structure; Frida Kahlo painted 50 portraits of herself; Henry Moore, what??
The point is, or was, variations on a theme; if all you see is hospital, medical blah blah, then it wasn’t meant for you.
Nonetheless, I look forward to your first novel!
