What is Kemi Badenoch doing? Yet another senior figure from the Conservative Party's centre right has had the whip taken away. If she carries on at this rate, she will not have many MPs left in her party.

Quite frankly, some within the grassroots of the Conservative Party are wondering whether it is she who should lose the whip. Nearly two years after the General Election, she has made no meaningful inroads into rebuilding the Conservative Party as an electoral force.

Many, many people within the Conservative Party have pointed out that being "a tribute act to Reform" is never going to deliver the Conservatives back into government. Others have remarked that "you cannot out fascist a fascist party", so to speak. Those criticisms are now being voiced from within the party itself.

Until there is an awakening amongst the party membership, the grandees of the Conservative Party and its funders, together with a decisive move back towards the party's centre right traditions, good governance and economic competence, the party will never again become a credible party of government. Instead, it risks deteriorating further into the abyss.
