Looking forward to getting out on the hills this xmas? Stay safe. Plan your route in advance, be prepared for changes in conditions, & if you haven't been out in a while, take it handy & consider using lower risk, well-used tracks.
When parking, please leave gates, roads, and track entrances clear for landowners and emergency services. Enjoy your time on the hills. If you get into trouble, call 112 or 999.
This evening, SEMRA & @sardaIreland responded to a callout to a lost walker in the Knockmealdowns. Thankfully, we were able to locate the casualty safe & well. Members were then warmly welcomed & fed by Rhododendron Walking Festival @VeeWalks & Siúl Eile members in Clogheen 😋
Happy Christmas. Thank you for your support and generosity throughout the year. Thanks also to our families, who continue to make the sacrifices to allow us to attend callouts on short notice as well as training, and fundraisers.

Vehicle supplied by Auto Boland Jaguar Land Rover and fitted out by Primo Coachworks. Like its predecessor, the new fully equipped vehicle will play a vitally important role for the team in callouts, getting the team to remote locations, & bringing casualties off of the hills.
Introducing our brand-new Land Rover Defender “Sierra Charlie” which replaces our much-loved and extremely capable 2008 Defender of the same name. The vehicle was financed under Measure 2 – Mobility, Cancer Care and First Responder Transport of the CLÁR 2022 programme.

@NobleGuardianIE@GardaTraffic@AmbulanceNAS Dunmore East Coast Guard played a significant part in the search as well as initial treatment of the casualty with assistance from a SEMRA Team doctor and local GP.
Last night, SEMRA was tasked by @GardaTraffic to assist with a search for a missing lady in Dunmore East. While en route, the team was stood down as the lady, who had taken a fall, was found by a passerby & subsequently treated by @AmbulanceNAS. A great result for all involved.

Last weekend, #LeaveNoTrace Trainer Jimmy Barry attended the #LongWayRound, a fundraiser for @SE_Mount_Rescue!
His stand was set up at the registration area, and with over 800 people taking part, many stopped to talk and learn about how litter can impact our environment! 🌙 🥾
Congrats to the winners or our Calendar photo comp. The calendar is for sale at link below or can be collected in bulk from a local team member. If walking clubs etc. want to take a bunch to sell before xmas that would be welcomed. Email [email protected].

Earlier today, SEMRA members located a lost walker on Slievenamon and escorted them down off the hill. At the same time, other members responded to a report of lost children in the Blackstairs Mts, which was stood down after the children returned home safely.
