This type of rebar coating is used in conditions subjected to high corrosion. In the 1950s, deicing chemicals were used to clear bridges and highways, sending repair costs skyrocketing due to corrosion problems. This drove the first use of corrosion resistant rebar in 1973.
Lattice Beam
The lattice beam/girder was used prior to the development of larger rolled steel plates for instance wide flanges, channels, or hollow structural sections (HSS). They have been displaced in modern construction with welded or bolted plate girders.
Tilt-Up Concrete Construction
Tilt construction is the means of forming concrete panels that once cured will be tilted up into place to form the building’s exterior walls. The panels are site casted on either the buildings concrete slab on grade or on a casting slab.
Bearing capacity and other important factors for design of foundation elements are typically supplied by a geotechnical engineer via a geotechnical report. If a report is not supplied engineers can use prescriptive parameters located in chapter 1807 of the IBC.
