The School, funded by our Fisheries Charitable trust, works to provide the public with confidence and skills to cook and prepare the amazing array of seafood the UK has to offer
Fantastic to see @SeafoodSchool featured on @bbcapprentice last night as the contestants got to grips with filleting and preparing a range of freshly caught Cornish seafood https://t.co/8jgg0GuLL0
#TheApprentice you saw the candidates trying to prepare their catch of the day at Billingsgate Seafood School, why don't you try our most popular course 'Catch of the Day'!
Funding available for our up and coming Fishmongers 1, 2 & 3 (City & Guilds) Course on 9th November! Call 02075173548 to find out more! #billingsgate
Our #seafood school is directly above the UK's largest, in-land seafood #market.
Locations don't get much better than that!
Several of our classes include tours of the market, giving you the perfect opportunity to hone your fish-selecting skills.
โ Did you know that the Seafood School at Billingsgate has been a registered #charity since 1999? In that time we've taught thousands of schoolchildren how to safely prepare #fish dishes as part of a wholesome and #nutritious diet.
CJ's latest #FishToDish masterclass is here!
This week she's teaching us what to look for when buying beautiful fresh Dover sole.

๐When buying the freshest #fish, the eyes have it!
Bright & clear, "life-like" eyes are a sign of freshness, while cloudy, sunken, dull or blotchy eyes can indicate that a fish is past its prime.
Still not sure? Give it a sniff - the fish should smell of the sea, not fish-y!
We have spaces available on one of our best-selling classes next week.
'Hook, Line and Sinker' includes a visit to the market, specialised seafood skills, as well as fish to take home with you.

Scaling a #fish is an essential part of the preparation process. But it doesn't need to be messy!
CJ is here to teach us in 30 seconds, the best way to scale a fish.
What does it mean to cook #sustainably?
For us, it's eating more of the #fish species that are thriving, and saving some species as a special treat.
We all need to do our part to protect the seas that put food on our plates.
