@CapstonePub Nimitz Library would love cafe-style tables and chairs. I want the students to love coming into their library to read and hang out. What better way to do that than with some cool furniture and cafe tables by our beautiful windows. ♥️

Thanks to Isatou and the women of Gambia, the goats are healthier and the gardens grow better. Learn how these women turned trash into treasure in the book, "One Plastic Bag." Students listened to the story of Isatou Ceesay and worked on a Stop and Jot activity. #earthday

In honor of Black History Month, students listened to the story, "Trombone Shorty" and completed a Frayer Model of comprehension questions. The Frayer Model is a great tool to use in all subject areas for not only vocabulary but comprehension questions, facts and equations.

Listening to short stories by Xavier Garza and working on a "thin slide" to represent the conflict the character faced in the story. (one pic/one word) Thin/thick slides are a great way to encourage students to think abt the overall theme or characters in the story.

Seahawks are celebrating World Read Aloud Day w/ the book, "The Oldest Student How Mary Walker Learned to Read." An inspiring story of how Mary Walker never gave up despite many setbacks and learned to read at the age of 116! Such an amazing story!!! #WorldReadAloudDay

Best way to end the day! Sharing the joy of reading with our ALE class. We read After the Fall by Dan Santat. He puts a twist on the classic nursery rhyme Humpty Dumpty that is sure to warm your heart ♥️🪶🪶
