We’re screening at the Théâtre Du Château d’Eu today and tomorrow in competition for the Short Metrages Program at Festival Du Film Des Villes Sœurs 🌊🦭
Massive thanks to Clara and the team at Villes Soeurs who asked to see Sealskin a few months ago - and then went and put it in competition in their Short Films programme! 🦭
A special thanks must go to Spencer Grant (@SpencerGrantV), one of our Assistant Editors/3rd ADs on the film, who stepped in to translate Sealskin into French for the audience at Villes Soeurs.
The Sealskies are back! 🌊
We are absolutely delighted to announce that Sealskin will be featuring as part of the Official Short Films Programme at this year's Festival du Film des Villes Soeurs, an annual French film festival created to celebrate costume in cinema.
The Short Films programme will be showing at the Théâtre du château d'Eu on Saturday 9th at 11:00am, and Sunday 10th at 14:00pm.
You can download the programme (in French) here - https://t.co/4H0vpn8Osb
It’s been so lovely to meet @TheDaisyDeer and collaborate with her to relaunch Dissecting the Scene, a YouTube series on @thelightleaks! Featuring @SealskinF, a gorgeous short film inspired by Celtic selkie folklore! 🦭❤️🌊
Ready to jump back into the Sealskin world?
Our director, Daisy Leigh-Phippard, has been working with @thelightleaks, an organisation created for the support, empowerment and education of women and non-binary filmmakers, to dissect one of the scenes from Sealskin.
We're excited to announce that this has now been released! Watch for a behind the scenes look at Tara and Shona's argument including directing actors, the symbolism of white dresses and our production designer having to retie a package after every take.

The team at Sealskin would like to take a moment to personally thank everyone who supported us in 2020 despite all the challenges and limitations it brought. We send you all our best wishes and hopes for 2021 wherever you are 🌊
2020 is finally drawing to a close, and while it has been a tough year we'd like to say how grateful we are for your support, enthusiasm and love at a time when things were difficult for all.
We'd once again like to extend our thanks to Bren for reaching out to our director to feature Sealskin in the book, and a massive congratulations on the publication of the final product.

We're so excited to reveal that Sealskin is being featured in Storytelling for Directors, an actual published book from Bren Simson detailing the script to screen process for film directors!
Bren was a mentor to our director and wider crew during their time at @BournemouthFilm
We still look forward to being a part of this wonderful film festival and appreciate all the efforts of the team over in Rouen to make this festival happen physically and safely for the filmmakers and cinephiles attending 🌊
Due to the measures recently put in place in France to protect its citizens from Covid-19, the This is England - Rouen Film Festival is currently postponing its physical festival until January 2021.
Sealskin, which was chosen as part of the Official Selection for the festival, was previously scheduled to screen to a full cinema audience in Rouen on November 14th and will now be moving with the rest of the festival's screening.
