With 80% of its $115 Million budget recovered in just 2 days, making it THE BIGGEST OPENING FOR AN ORIGINAL STEVEN SPIELBERG FILM, Disclosure Day became the hit Spielberg needed after 2 financial setbacks (even though West Side Story and The Fabelmans were both wonderful movies.)
Is it the best Spielberg film ever made? No! Schindler's List already has that title. But is it bad film? NO! I'd say go and see it and judge for yourself. Just don't expect too much. #DisclosureDay
I actually thought that it was a very thought provoking film. The take away I got from it is "Who's to say how we would react to the Disclosure of Information about extra-terrestrial life?" #DisclosureDay
We aren't living in 1977 or 1982. We no longer have a "monoculture" where a single news anchor tells the world what happened and everyone believes it. #DisclosureDay
@enessubasi4@DaveAzulcrema The movie isn't actually about the discovery of the extraterrestrial; it is about humanity's scarred, modern relationship with truth. If extraterrestrials do exist and was reveal to be true, then how would the world react to it?
@QuantumTumbler The movie isn't actually about the discovery of the extraterrestrial; it is about humanity's scarred, modern relationship with truth. Contact is no longer a beautiful secret or a childhood bond.
@GraceRandolph The focus shifts entirely to the heavy, bureaucratic weight of a 79-year cover-up and the whistleblowers trying to survive it. You went in expecting Close Encounters 2.0, It's not. And I for one am excited to see it for myself.
@GraceRandolph The wonder of Close Encounters and the innocence of E.T. are completely stripped away. Contact is no longer a beautiful secret or a childhood bond—it is a weaponized piece of data caught in a relentless gears-of-power machine.
@GraceRandolph Spielberg adapting his style to reflect a more complex, information-driven era shows a willingness to evolve rather than just playing his greatest hits.
@GraceRandolph Re-hashing the wide-eyed wonder of Close Encounters today would likely feel naive. A modern audience, deeply entrenched in data leaks, mass surveillance, and institutional skepticism, naturally requires a narrative that grapples with those realities.
@covie_93@lacho_ai_ Even the algorithm agrees she is a 10! Seriously, when editing the photo I just asked the editing program to rate her from 1-10.
SHE’S PERFECT!
