Beloved actor and comedian David Alan Grier has officially been selected to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as part of the Class of 2027, earning the honor in the Television category. His ceremony date will be announced later.

From his unforgettable characters on the groundbreaking sketch-comedy series In Living Color to appearances in Martin, The Carmichael Show, The Patient, and St. Denis Medical, Grier has remained a versatile presence on television for decades.

His career also extends across film and theater, with memorable work in A Soldier’s Story, Boomerang, Jumanji, and The Color Purple. He also earned a Tony Award for his acclaimed performance in the Broadway revival of A Soldier’s Play.

After nearly five decades of making audiences laugh while continually proving his dramatic range, this recognition feels long overdue and fully deserved.

@raashaan I understand both of those arguments but I do think it implies that it’s more than just chase down blocks and nothing else. Also, playing in the league for a long time isn’t a reason to dismiss the stat. Being productive for 25 years is a good thing!
