Bu süreçten 1.5 ay sonra en az 3 yıl profesörlük yapmış olma şartı değiştirilerek rektör olarak atandı. O atandıktan sonra kanun eski haline getirildi!

Bizim bugün "matematikte nasıl daha başarılı oluruz, liselerde bilimsel araştırmaları nasıl yaygınlaştırırız ya da başarılı öğrencilerin Türkiye'den kaçmasına nasıl engel oluruz" gibi şeyleri düşünmemiz gerekirdi. Ama tam tersi imkanı olan başarılı öğrencilerin ülkeden kaçması isteniyor gibi!
