Side note: all the comments about Patrick being bad on this play, you don’t know what you’re talking about. He’s been pretty damn good through two games, better than anyone we had on the roster, and he was just chillin at home before we called. That’s how bad the guys who chose are.

Pretty much the GM is pushing for his guys to play to prove he was right. But fans are mad at the coaches for playing them.
We will probably never know. But I wish I knew how much of Allegretti, JGJ, and Gulbin being the 3 centers in camp was AP vs Dan. Like did Dan tell AP he was good with it? Did Dan push for someone else? It would be interesting to know how they came to that decision.

@Russellmania621 I agree with this..butttt.. play calls here were awful. Reynolds- 5th string RB, running behind Gulbin. A run play up the middle with your struggling center as the key blocker with your tight end... not sure what the Jayden play was... but not confident it was a good one
@Voncheeze @WeeklyAudible Gulbin is a 6th round rookie he can't be a bust. Especially not after 4 games, 1 of which he didn't even play
Gulbin is a center based off body type, Buckner couldn’t wait to swim move his ass. Keep him at center moving forward and figure the rest out.

Also Gulbin was playing out of position. If theres one thing I wish Washington did was bring a solid veteran tackle when Tunsil went down Humphries was terrible/not 100% still
Despite all that the players he whiffed on (Allegretti and Paul) became the biggest liabilities throughout the year so far. Hell they pushed Gulbin out there and that mf had months to prepare and he still was shit! So much for drafting huh? Another swing and a miss by Peters. You dont cut your starting center unless you FOR SURE have your better center already on the team! But noooooo he had to be a nice guy and release him before getting a center and look what happened! We ended up with nothing but Allegretti and a half eaten apple!

1. 4th/1 at WSH - 47 up 6-0 with Craig Reynolds that turns into a touchdown for Colts and lost momentum 2nd Q, 8:30 left, Brandon Coleman blows block..
2. 3rd/G/5 in first quarter - Sack on Gulbin inside - Mariota injured. Previous play, Mariota throws against grain INC instead of running for possible TD
3. 3rd/14 stop on screen - Amik Robertson personal foul extension leads to touchdown - good call (engaged and absolutely shoves at end of play)
4. Antonio Williams long TD wiped out on illegal shift to right of AK.

The #Commanders had to rely heavily on 6th & 7th round rookies Sunday in London, in RG Matt Gulbin and QB Athan Kaliakmanis.
In good organizations & rosters, late round rookie picks are expected to contribute. At some point.
They aren't supposed to be saviors or play extensively.
This team is still suffering attrition from the Rivera era & the Marty party ALONG w/ obviously AP striking out big time on several draft picks.
