@FerrellaShow Did not hit all 3 rules of the NCAA touchdown catch process. Lofton did 2 of 3.
Miami let ND smack them around in 2025. And then a crap penalty at the very end kept ND from winning.
The amnesia and bias is real.
@gs_derrick Fam u canโt tell me you donโt see the difference AJ never bobbled the ball. Lofton bobbled the ball a lil the ball was moving
@DavidFurones_ Who TF is Beanie WellS, the referee. Did not hit all 3 rules of the NCAA touchdown catch process. Lofton did 2 of 3.

three notes:
1. aj brown takes two steps in stride AFTER catching it. lofton catches the ball in the air and then toe taps both feet at the same time (way more of a bang bang play following catch)
2. lofton begins to lose control of the ball BEFORE the defender even swipes at it as he's stepping out (see photo. right before defender swipes it, you can see he's starting to bobble it)
3. NFL gets shit wrong all the time, so not sure that citing a single example from an NFL game fully validates your argument (though i understand your frustration)

@Uncommon_Centss @NDIrishLax @amwilliams320 OK, so in your fantasy world of Lofton kept it over his head, where there WAS FULL CONTROL and stood their like a statue its a catch? Because standing like a statue isnt a football move.
@PaulPabst @Brady_Quinn Yes clearly a TD. Both men were OB when he made a defensive play. You canโt do that. Once Lofton steps OB the play is over. And he still had clear control.
@BrimsCr7 The rule is what it is. I donโt agree with the process of what a catch is. In my opinion, Lofton caught the ball with his foot in bounds, then he was stripped of the ball while out of bounds. That was a catch. Games today are overregulated.
@Uncommon_Centss @NDIrishLax @amwilliams320 Guess according to you Lofton needed to catch the ball, check, not 1 but 2 feet on the ground, check, AND complete his 2026 taxes with a qualified professional in the endzone, then it would count, right?
You are incredibly stupid or willfully ignorant. This conversation is done
@greg2126 Lofton knew too.
New angle of the debated Elija Lofton catch/no-catch in the end zone in the Miami-Notre Dame game just dropped, via @305Sportss.
I think Loftonโs own reaction shows he knows he had to hold on through the whole process. Michael Irvin sure felt it was a touchdown.
Kenny lofton jr did this but but better and canโt find a place in the league. They gonna do the same thing to this kid. Just cause they donโt fit the prototypical center six pack muscles.
I might have a new favorite player in College Basketball.

@pastaman927 @IrishNet 2 touchdowns without the best player in the country on the field. All 3 with cb5 on the field. Thank god lofton dropped that ball tho that bum
1. Held all night
2. Upshaw was held in the end zone no call
3. Mensah was horse collared and targeted no call
4. Lofton play is a TD in every single football league except last night.
In spite of all that Miami still shouldโve won. Go Canes!
@_ToneCorleone Lofton never caught it, so this is dumb. The ball was always moving in his hands. But Canes fans love to move the goal posts just to bitch about losing. Been doing it for 25 years. Still complaining about pass interference against Ohio state and not giving up a 4th and 14.
@OnlineXWatchdog @OrangeBowlBoys Ironically the entire season the broadcast on ACC replays has cut to the replay booth for us to hear the discussion... in this game it did not. The moment Lofton 3rd step touches out of bounds the BALL IS DEAD. PERIOD. No further film is even reviewable past that point.
@unclelukereal1 NAHโฆ F*** DAT UNC!! DAT FIRST TD OF THEIRS HE WAS OUT AND THAT BALL LOFTON CAUGHT IN THE ENDZONE WAS A TD BY RULE!!
@__C_A_R_L___ Lofton caught it
@NDrecruiting01 Both teams were banged up. Tail of 2 halves. Still think lofton td should've stood but good game. Both will be in the CFP
