Having a great if not very wet week sampling soils around Muaniweni village in Fiji with some of our fantastic local colleagues to try and better understand soil fertility in the region @ACIARAustralia@spc_cps@CSIRO
@johngbennett Couldn’t agree more. On our trips from Bris to Nhill the roads are generally terrible, especially since the last floods, but the region around Birchip is usually the worst of the 2000kms. Sometimes when you are in the shoulder you wonder if you will ever get back on the bitumen.
Great day learning about Fijian farming systems from local farmers and scientists and the production challenges faced by many of our project partners in the Pacific Island nations. Thanks to @ACIARAustralia for helping to make these collaborations possible.
@dyerjonathan Don’t want to get too excited but most parts of the Wimmera should have reasonable subsoil moisture stores. Just needed to get this years roots down there. Fingers crossed!!!
Yuhuuuuuuu! Finally published! More products for the SLGA v2 @TERN_Aus. Mapping soil organic carbon fractions for Australia, their stocks, and uncertainty https://t.co/g90BmnZsSH @sOiLmAlOnE@SearleRoss@BudimanSoil, Alexandre Wadoux and Alex McBratney.
Exciting with a new collaboration paper on Baseline high-resolution maps of organic carbon content in Australian soils at 30 m led by AlexWadoux with @mercetadzio@CSIRO@sOiLmAlOnE@SearleRoss

My lads and other boys from their footy team were involved in filming a commercial with Wally Lewis for “Containers for Change” this arvo. What a massive honour for all of us to meet QLDs best ever rugby league player and really nice bloke to boot.
@johngbennett So many amazing Nhill people involved in this tremendous story but a huge shout out to John and Margaret Millington for making it happen. Humanity at its best.
