Hi world! SPD Hype Coordinator here, and I've been assigned to kick things off for World Cup 2026 while also making sure nobody does anything that requires us to arrest them. Multitasking! Now read this post, I spent too long writing it. #SEAoccer

Just in time for summer, downtown's beloved Westlake Park is back open! We've added bollards for safety, repaired uneven pavement, made accessibility improvements to the stage, and more.

If you see a street that needs attention, report it by emailing [email protected] or using the Find It, Fix It app. Your reports help us prioritize our work.
Note: these photos are taken before the final street markings are applied. What you see are temporary street markings.
Spot improvements let us quickly pave sections of Seattle streets that are in poor condition. We use in-house crews to keep costs low.
Here are two recent examples: Lake Washington Blvd E between 36th Ave E & 37th Ave E and W Blewett Way between 13th Ave W & 11th Ave W.
@LauraBee1975@CityofSeattle You can reach us at [email protected], and many of our projects have specific email inboxes. Let me know if you need help finding a specific project.
We've installed 200+ new bike & scooter parking corrals in downtown Seattle. These better organize parking and make it easier to find a ride.

The City of Seattle is updating its Climate Action Plan. The Climate Action Plan is a guide for how Seattle will reduce pollution, prepare for climate impacts, and build a healthier, more equitable city for everyone. Please complete the survey and share what matters to you. Your input helps this plan. This survey takes about 10–15 minutes https://t.co/KCxIhOV25J
Last year, we re-marked 1,500 crosswalks and re-painted 560 miles of Seattle streets.
If you notice a damaged crosswalk or street marking, please report it through the Find It, Fix It app or email [email protected]
Crews will restore all 11 Pan African community crosswalks. We'll remove worn markings, clean and prepare the street surface, and install new markings. The temporary "Remove" markings you may see are part of our planning process. They do not mean the crosswalks are going away.
We aren't sure you heard yet, but the World Cup is 19 days away! If you haven't started planning for an influx of people, it's time. Here is our safety guide. Bookmark it and check back often.
