Tuned in to the Unreal State of Play thing for a bit and heard single player gaming referred to as "linear content consumption", pretty good pb of the feeling sick to my stomach speedrun.
Basically finished the new Doom and while the core action is probably the most fun out of any of them everything around it makes the game kinda just be... okay. I'd find it very hard to recommend for the $80 price tag. (SUPER not worth for the $100 edition)
Finished The Frist Berserker, surprisingly good game, really good bosses overall, I'd say pretty much on par with Lies of P. Story's dogshit but everything else's great, kinda just a better Nioh. Was fun, got a little easy towards the last third but wasn't too bad.
"In This Corner (and Other Corners) of the World" is now available on Crunchyroll worldwide (excluding Japan).
This is the extended version (168-min) of "In This Corner of the World" (129-min) film by Sunao Katabuchi.

Nothing makes me feel quite as old as the just sheer disdain I feel for people in videos and streams who, whenever any tiny thing happens, scream let's go over and over for five minutes straight.
Feels kinda wild to say, but as someone who had zero interest in Metaphor leading up to launch, and probably wouldn't have even bought it without the demo, I think Metaphor's quite a bit better than like every Persona game. and I really like some of those.
Let's just say I'm really glad Metaphor is coming out soon, and I really hope Atlus in particular don't do another remake ala P3R, although I'm sure they will.
Managed to slog through the P3R Aigis Answer DLC due to a lack of things to play. It feels like a prime example of all the bad parts about the remake trend. This DLC must have felt dated gameplay-wise even back in 2009 and today it's like pretty abysmal.
Releasing it as an actual thing to pay a decent amount of money for today seems insane. It's just a trillion extra dungeon floors which were already by far the worst part about P3R. The little story bits in it aren't even especially good either, it's just... yeah I dunno.
So yeah. fun gameplay loop, very disappointing story. But there's loads of content in there for the price and I overall had a good time. Was also apparently a solo dev project that took like 15 years so that's cool. Although I don't think that should factor in too much in the end
So I just finished Astlibra (https://t.co/8r8hUNeR87). Heard a lot of mention of it being a hidden gem and having a pretty intriguing story. I think I had an interesting experience with it so here are some thoughts in the standard rambling style of my tweets.
And the chapter and gear are constructed in such a way that at the start of each chapter you feel weak and at some point mid-way through you get enough to craft the new pieces and you start feeling strong. It's a fun loop. Completed it on Hell difficulty if it matters.
