just read back on @I_Skream tweets and discussion about nightclubs…
am sure everyone is aware a always give back to these places (the fundamental lifeblood of electronic music) but djs need to work with these clubs to help them survive more
capacity = fee
help them
@TriesteDJ Exactly this! Last year i was trying to book an unannounced artist at an 80 cap venue and the agent wouldn’t come down on the 1200 fee. The lack of understanding about the costs of running a party are killing independent venues and promoters off very quickly.
I still don't understand how they get away with this? Knowing fully well these 2 are not the real artful dodger and they still take the credit for stuff they didn't do?
This hasn't affected me so far but many gigs are cancelling. For WFR Central we have set up a payment plan for the festival tickets to mitigate this. Support grassroots gigs or they won't happen, it's a simple fact. 3/3
If you want to see the show, buy a ticket or it won't happen. Promoters can't put it on at a loss, losing deposits, artists fees, hire costs. The "intention" doesn't make the show happen. This is the sad reality. 2/3
Independent promoters are struggling right now. With people waiting to buy tickets till the week (or even day) of the show, it is hard to budget to make the show happen. Budgets often come from ticket sales. This is what so many shows/festivals are cancelling. 1/3
Perhaps to put it in simple terms. When the management of superstars take home more than the promoters, producers, even the clubs themselves you got a sustainability problem for sure
