It was great to finally do one of the classic Scottish hill races on Sunday at the Lairig Ghru, even better to come away with the win 🥇 It’s a race that’s been on the list for a few years, and 3:05 isn’t a shabby time given the wind direction, plenty of life left in these legs!
Pinning a number on tomorrow for the first time this season at the Lairig Ghru race. Not in peak shape yet but the legs feel pretty good for it, very much looking forward to the fight 🤘
Attempting to ride my way back into some shape, a depressing amount of condition lost in a month, but start slow and it’ll come back. The sun is a good healer too, the wind just needs to f*ck off now!
In my experience flat running for trail and mountain runners is massively undervalued, and not just for easy recovery runs. A lot of people say run slow to run fast, but sometimes you’ve got to run fast to run fast!
Gutted to have missed GB trials last week after 5 months of specific prep, crazy work hours led to my body cracking (found my limit!) and I got horribly ill. Now just a case of giving my body time to get back to normal feelings and attack the trail season this summer 🤘
An incredible day skiing the Wetterhorn with Natalina, a peak I’ve wanted to do for a quite a while as it looms large over Grindelwald. We couldn’t have got a better day for it ☀️
The end of the year will also mark the end of my time with @SalomonRunning. I have been with the brand for a number of years, Salomon shoes have carried me for thousands of miles and taken me to races over the world. A new chapter in my running career starts in 2024 💥
