Tyler George of Santa Margarita Catholic High School continued his incredible season with a 9 inning complete game shutout at Mater Dei. The super sophomore threw 104 pitches in the effort. His pitching line included 4 base hits, 0 walks and 0 runs allowed to go along with 7 strikeouts.
George is now 7-0 for the season with a 0.85 earned run average. He is the only pitcher in California that has reached that win threshold. His strikeout to walk total is 34 to 2 in 41 innings pitched.
Six Eagles each collected one base hit: Chase Marlow, Cooper Holland, Luke Blanchard, Dylan Bright and George himself. But it was Blanchard's sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning that put George in the win column. George is also batting .395 for the season.
