Having a brilliant day observing Dan, a Community Paramedic. Awesome model of care benefiting patients and the system. #ircp@ParamedicsUK and @SECAmb_APP lots to share about #poct
@Matt_ParaACP@SECAmb_CCP Hey Matt. The previous βParamedic Practitionerβ (urgent & emergency care) education pathway has transitioned over to an Advanced Practice programme, with our practitioners transitioning to a four pillars (APP) job plan. Our CCP colleagues have separate unique development needs π
@steve_paraprac @4NaanJeremy@OcoRory@EEAST_UrgCare@swasFT Thereβs some fantastic work happening across the UK to embrace and develop advanced practice within the ambulance sector. You may need to zoom in, however, this graphic shows how our Advanced Paramedics are working across the four pillars within SECAmb π
Super excited for @K_Pavoni session on Mental Health & Risk Assessment. Katy is a Paramedic, Mental Health Practitioner and Associate Professor. Great to develop our @SECAmb_APP clinical leaders in this important area of patient care π #SECAmbAPPcon23
All set up and ready for our second @SECAmb_APP conference in the East of the region. Looking forward to welcoming colleagues to a day of great speakers, covering several areas of urgent & emergency care π #SECAmbAPPcon23
Our APPs sit βout of planβ for standard deployment, making them available to the Emergency Operations Centre for allocation to Category 1 (immediately life threatening) cases and APP crew referrals. They monitor calls on the system for βself allocationβ to suitable patients π
@emily_restell@GenerallyUnwell Thanks for great questions Emily. Each APP has a named Practice Development Lead to provide their clinical supervision, supported by Health Education England. There is no requirement for NMP within advanced practice, however weβre exploring whether there is a need in amb serv ππ»
@GenerallyUnwell πππ So sorry Silas! Weβll blame a long day π
Many of them already hold an MSc and those that donβt are being supported to obtain required evidence through HEE portfolio route.
This will better align us to the CoP career progression framework recommendations ππ»
@GenerallyUnwell Hey Silus. The PP education pathway moved over to an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice a couple of cohorts ago. Following consultation, the JD was revised to reflect activities practicing across the four pillars, with the new APP title getting approved a few weeks ago π
