This bill was put together at the last minute and had multiple flaws. The SEC and the Big Ten told legislators multiple times what they didn’t like about the bill, but their concerns went unheard. Legislators were arrogant, thought they had the votes, and refused to listen to the two biggest conferences.
Saying the SEC killed a deeply flawed bill is ridiculous. What killed the bill was the attempt to push it through in three months without consulting the two biggest conferences and addressing their concerns.
Also, the NCAA damaged college sports long before this flawed bill came along by consistently making decisions based on greed rather than fairness for student-athletes.
Wonder if Ted Cruz and Maria Cantwell a text message asking for PR help…like he did with John Currie…people don’t forget Schiano Sunday, Dan.
“Great hire, man. Seriously”
“I’ll help, not sure they’ll listen. LOL.”
